Selective Area Epitaxy
Selective area epitaxy is the local growth of epitaxial layer through a patterned amorphous dielectric mask (typically SiO2 or Si3N4) deposited on a semiconductor substrate. Semiconductor growth conditions are selected to ensure epitaxial growth on the exposed substrate, but not on the dielectric mask. SAE can be executed in various epitaxial growth methods such as molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE) and chemical beam epitaxy (CBE). By SAE, semiconductor nanostructures such as quantum dots and nanowires can be grown to their designed places. Concepts Mask The mask used in SAE is usually amorphous dielectric such as SiO2 or SiN4 which is deposited on the semiconductor substrate. The patterns (holes) in the mask are fabricated using standard microfabrication techniques lithography and etching. Variety of lithography and etching techniques can be implemented to SAE mask fabrication. Suitable techniques depend on the pattern feature size and ...

The Stichting Academisch Erfgoed (SAE), in English the Dutch Foundation for Academic Heritage, is a network of Dutch universities that supports these universities' heritage and cultural collections. Mission The Dutch Foundation for Academic Heritage helps to protect university heritage, to make it more accessible and known to the public. History The SAE was founded in 1997, when Dutch State Secretary Aad Nuis reserved a subsidy of 12 million guilders via the Mondriaan Stichting. At that point, a plan was developed for future maintenance and management of the universities' collections. The SAE then made a first selection of valuable and save-worthy collections and objects, developed first guidelines to use these collections in education and research, and to make them better available for the broad public. The SAE has initiated various thematic projects, about botanical, medical and geological collections. In 2012, the SAE also launched a shared collection website for academic ...

The Brazilian Intelligence Agency ( pt, Agência Brasileira de Inteligência, ABIN) is the main intelligence agency in Brazil. ABIN's mission is to ensure that the Federal Executive has access to knowledge related to the security of the State and society, such as those involving foreign defense, foreign relations, internal security, socioeconomic development and scientific-technological development. A successor organization to the Serviço Nacional de Informações (SNI), it formed during the government of Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco in the mid-1960s. In an attempt to bring military intelligence agencies under the control of the civilian-led government as part of the process of democratization that began in Brazil in 1985, President Fernando Collor de Mello replaced the SNI with the short-lived (1990–94) Secretaria de Assuntos Estratégicos (SAE) or Strategic Affairs Secretariat. However, despite the dismissal of 144 SNI officers, the agency continued to be dominated b ...
