Sadia Transportes Aéreos
TransBrasil was a Brazilian airline which ceased operations on 3 December 2001. During most of its history, Transbrasil was owned by local entrepreneur Omar Fontana. Its aircraft usually featured a colorful livery, remarkably with a rainbow on the tail fin. Transbrasil base was Brasilia International Airport in Brasilia. From the 1970s and until its demise in 2002, Transbrasil was usually the third largest Brazilian airline after Varig and VASP, serving both domestic and international routes. TAS – Transportes Aéreos Salvador Ltda. was a Brazilian airline founded in 1949. In 1962 it was sold and incorporated to Sadia Transportes Aéreos. History TAS was founded in 1949 as a non-scheduled carrier and flights started in 1950. In 1952 it was authorized to operate regular flights. In 1955 Panair do Brasil tried to purchase the airline in order to increase its presence in Bahia but the transaction was not successful. Shortly after TAS changed its judicial status to S.A. (corporation) and the acronym was changed to TASSA. In September 1955 Transportes Aéreos Nacional became the controller of the airline. Real Transportes Aéreos (acronym to Redes Estaduais Aéreas Limitadas, literal translation: State Air Networks Limited) was a Brazilian airline founded in 1945. It was merged into Varig in 1961, when Varig bought the Consórcio Real-Aerovias-Nacional, of which Real was the main carrier. Leite Lopes Airport
Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport is the airport serving Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. It is operated by Rede Voa. History Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport was opened on April 2, 1939, and soon after, in 1940, the runway was extended for the first time. In 1996 the whole airport complex received its major renovation in which the runway and adjoining taxiway were extended from 1,800m to 2,100m and a new larger apron was built. In 2006 the width of the runway was enlarged to 45m and finally in July 2010 the renovation and enlargement of the terminal building was completed.
