Sadarpur ( bn, সদরপুর ) is an upazila of Faridpur District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Geography Sadarpur is located at and has 40219 households and a total area of 290.21 km2. Demographics As of the 2011 Bangladesh census, Sadarpur has a population of 193347. Males constitute 48.14% of the population, and females 51.86%. Sadarpur has an average literacy rate of 43.20% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. Administration Sadarpur Upazila is divided into nine union parishads: Akter Char, Bhashanchar, Char Bishnupur, Char Manair, Char Nasirpur, Dheukhali, Krishnapur, Narikelbaria, and Sadarpur. Faridpur District
Faridpur District ( bn, ফরিদপুর জেলা) is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of the Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to its northeast. The district was named after Farīd-ud-Dīn Masʿūd, a 13th century Sufi saint. A separate district was created by severing Dhaka district in 1786 and was called Dacca Jelalpur. A municipality was established in 1869. Historically, the town was known as ''Fatehabad''. It was also called Haveli Mahal Fatehabad. Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. 2011 Bangladesh Census
In 2011, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, conducted a national census in Bangladesh, which provided a provisional estimate of the total population of the country as 142,319,000. The previous decennial census was the 2001 census. Data were recorded from all of the districts and upazilas and main cities in Bangladesh including statistical data on population size, households, sex and age distribution, marital status, economically active population, literacy and educational attainment, religion, number of children etc. Bangladesh and India also conducted their first joint census of areas along their border in 2011. According to the census, Hindus constituted 8.5 per cent of the population as of 2011, down from 9.6 per cent in the 2001 census. Bangladesh have a population of 144,043,697 as per 2011 census report. Union Parishad
Union council ( bn, ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ, translit=iūniyan pariṣad, translit-std=IAST), also known as union parishad, rural council, rural union and simply union, is the smallest rural administrative and local government unit in Bangladesh. Each union council is made up of nine wards. Usually one village is designated as a ward. There are 4,562 unions in Bangladesh. A union council consists of a chairman and twelve members including three members exclusively reserved for women. Union councils are formed under the ''Local Government (Union Parishads) Act, 2009''.
