Sacred Rite (band)
Sacred Rite is an American heavy metal band from Honolulu, Hawaii, formed in 1980. Sacred Rite was one of the two notable heavy metal bands from Honolulu (the other being Hawaii). The group's self-titled debut album was released in Europe on Axe Killer Records, which helped grow their fanbase and led to the band getting an opening act spot for Triumph during a tour stop in Hawaii. Sacred Rite relocated from Honolulu to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1987. Power Metal
Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Generally, power metal is characterized by a faster, lighter, and more uplifting sound, in contrast with the heaviness and dissonance prevalent, for example, in extreme metal. Hawaii (band)
Hawaii was an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 by former Deuce guitarist Marty Friedman, originally called Vixen (not to be confused with the 1980s female band of the same name). Vixen recorded several demos and appeared on the ''U.S. Metal Vol. II'' (1982) compilation album, before releasing the ''Made In Hawaii'' EP in 1983. Another early recording appeared on ''Metal Massacre II'' (1982) under the name Aloha, with Lisa Ruiz taking over lead vocals from Kim La Chance. After Hawaii split up, Marty Friedman formed the band Cacophony with Jason Becker; bassist/vocalist Gary St. Pierre joined Vicious Rumors as lead vocalist on their 1985 debut album ''Soldiers of the Night''. Triumph was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1975 that was popular in the late 1970s and the 1980s, building on its reputation and success as a live band. Between its 16 albums and DVDs, it has received 18 gold and nine platinum awards in Canada and the United States.
