Sacred Heart Malankara Catholic Church, Mylapra
Sacred Heart Malankara Syrian Catholic Church or referred as ''S H Church'' is located in the village of Mylapra, near Pathanamthitta, on the road side of the Main Eastern Highway in the Indian state of Kerala. It is home to one of the first Syro-Malankara Catholic Church communities and is the biggest and oldest established church in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Pathanamthitta, Eparchy of Pathanamthitta. This church is the patron of two schools, Mount Bethany EHSS and S H Higher Secondary School. History Soon after the reunion movement in 1930 by Mar Ivanios, Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios, about five families from Mylapra reached Thirumoolapuram and behold the Catholic Faith in the presence of Jacob Mar Theophilos. Joshua Mar Ignathios (born 24 May 1950) is the Eparch of the Eparchy of Mavelikara of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in the state of Kerala, India. Family history and childhood He was born at Kottarakara, Kollam district as the son of Oommen Varghese and Annamma Varghese. He had his primary education at the St. Mary's School, Kizhaketheruvu, and he completed his secondary education at the Government High School, Kottarakkara, in 1967. Moran Mor Cyril Baselios Catholicos or, when referencing his title of Major Archbishop, Cyril Baselios Malancharuvil OIC (born ''James Malancharuvil'', 1935 – 2007) was the first major archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Jacob Mar Theophilos (21 February 1891 in Olassa, Kottayam, Kerala – 27 June 1956 in Tiruvalla, Kerala) was the co-builder of the Reunion Movement and the first bishop of Eparchy of Tiruvalla of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Early life Jacob (Yakob) Mar Theophilos was born as the first son of Abraham Tharakan and Achama of Kulapurackalveedu. After primary education from a nearby school, he completed matriculation from MD High School, Kottayam, where he later became a teacher. Geevarghese Ivanios (born 21 September 1882 as Geevarghese Panickeruveetil - died 15 July 1953) was the first metropolitan archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church and Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. He was the founder of Bethany Ashram order of monks and Bethany madom order of nuns. He was the first M.A. degree holder in the Malankara Church. Mount Bethany EHSS
Mount Bethany English Medium Higher Secondary School or Kerala, India. The school began providing education to lower primary level classes in the late 1970s. Later the school added further classes and now serves classes from Kindergarten to 10+2 in accordance with the Kerala Syllabus. The Main Eastern Highway is the lifeline of the high range townships of the Travancore region of Kerala state, India. It is also known as Punalur-Muvattupuzha Highway.
