Sachin (actor)
Sachin Pilgaonkar, often known mononymously by his screen name Sachin, is an Indian actor, director, producer, writer and singer of Marathi and Hindi films. He has directed and acted in several Marathi films of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Starting as a child in the Marathi film, ''Ha Majha Marg Ekla'' (1962), he went on to work in around 65 films as a child artist, before switching to adult roles, and being part of highly successful films like ''Geet Gaata Chal'' (1975), '' Balika Badhu'' (1976), ''Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se'' (1978) and '' Nadiya Ke Paar'' (1982) as a lead actor and he became a household name in India. Hindi cinema, popularly known as Bollywood and formerly as Bombay cinema, refers to the film industry based in Mumbai, engaged in production of motion pictures in Hindi language. ''Navra Maza Navsacha'' (Marathi: नवरा माझा नवसाचा) is a 2004 Marathi film. The film stars Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf and Supriya Pilgaonkar in leading roles. The movie portrays the journey of the couple from Mumbai to Ganapatipule to fulfill a vow. ''Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi'' () is a 1988 Indian Marathi-language comedy-drama film directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar and produced by Kiran Shantaram. Ashok Saraf (Hindii pronunciation: ʃoːk səɾaːf born 4 June 1947) is an Indian film and stage actor and comedian. He has appeared in many Marathi language films and stage plays in lead roles and in Hindi language films and TV serials in supporting roles. Marathi cinema is an Indian film industry of Marathi-language motion pictures. It is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Based in old Mumbai, it is the oldest film industry of Indian cinema. ''Tu Tu Main Main'' (English: ''Squabble'') is an Indian sitcom television sitcom which originally aired on DD Metro and later STAR Plus directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar.
