Antonio Sacconi
Antonio Sacconi (5 October 1895 – 22 December 1968) was an Italian chess master. Born into a noble family in Rome, he won ''torneo del Caffè Balbo'' after play-off match against Bernheimer (+3 −0 =1) in 1917, drew a match with Stefano Rosselli del Turco (+1 −1 =4) in 1918, both in Rome, and won a match against Mario Monticelli (+5 −3 =2) at Venice 1926. He won Italian Chess Championship at Florence 1935, shared 4th at Florence 1936, and took 4th at Naples 1937. In international tournaments, he won at Milan 1926 (the 4th ''torneo Crespi''), tied for 2nd-3rd with George Alan Thomas, behind Rudolf Spielmann, at Sopron 1934, and took 2nd at Margate 1937 (B tournament). Carlo Sacconi J.U.D. (9 May 1808 – 25 February 1889) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and Dean of the College of Cardinals. Carlo Sacconi was born in Montalto. He was educated at the seminary of Fermo and later at La Sapienza University, Rome, where he earned a ''doctorate utriusque iuris'' (in both canon and civil law). Priesthood He was ordained and worked in the diocese of Montalto as a professor in its seminary in 1829 and pro-vicar general for the diocese. He worked with the Congregation of the Tridentine Council for three years. He served as Auditor in the nunciature to the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1839 and chargé d'affaires ad interim in January 1844. Guido Sacconi (23 June 1948 – 2 May 2023) was an Italian politician and a Member of the European Parliament for the Central region with the Democrats of the Left (DS), part of the Socialist Group, and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. Maurizio Sacconi
Maurizio Sacconi ( Conegliano, 13 July 1950) is an Italian politician from Veneto. A long-time member of the Italian Socialist Party, from 1979 to 1994 he was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and from 1987 to 1994 he served also as Under-Secretary of the Treasury. Between 1981 and 1984 he was the first president of '' Legambiente'', the largest environmentalist association in Italy. From 1995 to 2001 he was branch office director of the International Labour Organization. Simone Fernando Sacconi (May 30, 1895 in Rome – June 26, 1973 in Point Lookout) was an expert Italian violin maker and restorer who studied fellow ''luthier'' Antonio Stradivari extensively during his lifetime. "While still at school he became a workshop assistant to Giuseppe Rossi, a pupil of Degani. By the time he was 16, Sacconi already had his own clientele, and a particular ability as a maker of copies. In 1931 he moved to New York to work for the dealer Emil Herrmann. He continued to make new instruments – and occasionally bows – but his time there was mainly taken up with repairs and restoration work. In this field he had no equal, an example of his work being a Stradivari of the best period, virtually destroyed in an accident in 1948, which now shows no sign of having suffered.
