Sacramento Roller Derby is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Sacramento, California. Originally two separate leagues founded in 2006, Sac City Rollers and Sacred City Derby Girls, who mutually announced a pending merger in late 2017, and then on January 1, 2018, announced a rebrand of the merged organization as Sacramento Roller Derby. Sacramento is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and structure Sac City Rollers was founded by two friends, Christine Galindo, known as "Devil Doll", and Nicole Kennedy, known as "Loco Coco". They saw the ''Rollergirls'' television show, and immediately decided to form a local league. Within a couple of months, it had sixty skaters, and it was playing bouts before the end of the year. Meanwhile, Sacred City Derby Girls was founded in late 2006 by some former members of the Sac City Rollers. Emerald City Roller Derby (ECRD), formerly known as Emerald City Roller Girls, is a roller derby league based in Eugene, Oregon. Founded in 2007, the league once consisted of three teams and a mixed team which competed against teams from other leagues. ECRD was founded in January 2007 by a group of people who met through a knitting circle, and a posting on Craigslist. By January 2010, the league had around 80 skaters. Nashville Roller Derby is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded as Nashville Rollergirls, the league is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and structure The league was founded in 2006 as Nashville Rollergirls and became a member of the WFTDA in 2008. Boston Roller Derby, (BRD), is a flat-track roller derby league based in Boston, Massachusetts. The league was founded as Boston Derby Dames in May 2005, and is a founding member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The league's all-star team, the Boston Massacre, was one of the top 25 WFTDA Division 1 teams in the world through most of the duration of the divisional ranking system introduced in early 2013, and as of December 31, 2015, the Massacre was ranked at 21. Boston won the WFTDA Division 2 Championship in 2017 and the North America East Continental Cup in 2018. Boston Roller Derby is skater-owned and -operated, sporting more than 70 full-time skaters who both skate and work as part of their duties. Charm City Roller Derby (CCRD), is a flat track roller derby league in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 2005, Charm City is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and league structure The league was established in 2005 as Charm City Roller Girls, when Caroline Donaghy returned to Baltimore from Houston, where she had skated with the Space City Roller Girls, and began promoting the intention to start a league in Baltimore. The first public Charm City game was held in 2006 at Skateland in Putty Hill. Upon the league's formation, it comprised four teams: the Junkyard Dolls, the Mobtown Mods, the Night Terrors and the Speed Regime. The 'Victorian Roller Derby League'' (VRDL or Victoria) is a flat track roller derby league based in Melbourne, Victoria. Founded in 2007, VRDL provides opportunities for all ages and at all levels to participate and compete in Roller Derby. VRDL is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), having gained membership in December 2011. Toronto Roller Derby
Toronto Roller Derby (ToRD), is a women's flat-track roller derby league in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2006, the league started play in 2007, and held its tenth season in 2016. Operated and managed by its skaters and members, ToRD has four house teams, one rookie travel team, and one WFTDA charter travel team. Since 2011, the league has operated out of a space in Downsview Park, but announced in January 2015 that they were in search of a new home. They have since moved to another space near Downsview Park. The house league season runs in the spring and summer, with events for ToRD's all-star travel team scheduled year round. Angel City Derby is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2006 by a collective of skaters, the league is composed of nearly 200 members divided into four teams who skate on a flat track and compete against teams from the state of California and internationally. Duke City Roller Derby (DCRD) is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Founded in 2005, Duke City is a founding member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History Founded in 2005, Duke City is the oldest roller derby organization in Albuquerque. Early on, the league comprised three teams based in Albuquerque, one in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Santa Fe and one in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Rio Rancho.
