Sabra Loomis (born 1938) is an Irish-American poet. Her most recent poetry collection is ''House Held Together by Winds'' (Harper Perennial, 2008), winner of the 2007 National Poetry Series. Her honors include Yaddo and MacDowell Colony fellowships. Her poems have appeared in literary journals and magazines including ''American Poetry Review, American Voice, Cincinnati Poetry Review, Cyphers, Florida Review'', ''Heliotrope, Lumina, Negative Capability, Poetry Ireland Review, Salamander, Salt Hill Journal,'' and ''St. Ann's Review''. Sabra Moore (born January 25, 1943) is an American artist, writer, and activist. Her artwork is based on re-interpreting family, social, and natural history through the form of artist's books, sewn and constructed sculptures and paintings, and installations. She was a member of the Heresies Collective, the Women's Caucus for Art, and was a collaborator of the art collective RepoHistory. Moore is known for her large-scale, collaborative exhibitions of women's artwork including ''Views by Women Artists'' (1982), and the collaborative shows ''Reconstruction Project'' (1984) and ''Connections Project/Conexus'' (1987). She has exhibited her artwork widely since 1969 including 18 solo exhibitions and over 130 group exhibitions. Sabra Elise Johnson (born July 29, 1987) is an American dancer, choreographer, and actress from Roy, Utah and the Season 3 Champion of the Fox reality television show ''So You Think You Can Dance''. She was born in the Netherlands, lived nine years in Germany, and after that, nine years in Utah. She continued to Las Vegas and, deciding to pursue a career in dance, moved to New York City. Sabra Wilbur Vought (May 23, 1877 – March 2, 1942) was an American academic librarian and federal official. Beginning in 1937, she was librarian for the Department of the Interior, covering library services for the Office of Education as well as the Bureau of Mines, the Office of Indian Affairs, and the National Park Service. Abba Sabra (fl. c. 1450) was an Ethiopian Orthodox monk, and the teacher of the children of Emperor Zara Yaqob of Ethiopia. Abba Sabra tried to convert the Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews), but was instead converted by them to Judaism. George Sabra ( ar, جورج صبرة, born 11 July 1947) is a member of the Syrian Democratic People's Party. He was elected president of the Syrian National Council, the main opposition group in Syria, on 9 November 2012 and later was acting president of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces from 22 April – 6 July 2013. He resigned from the National Coalition on 25 April 2018. Sabra is a Christian. Early life and education Sabra was born to a Christian family in the city of Qatana in Rif Dimashq Governorate on 11 July 1947. He graduated with a geography degree from Damascus University in 1971 and a degree in educational technology systems from Indiana University in 1978. Wadia Sabra
Wadia (Wadih) Sabra ( ar, وديع صبرا ; 23 February 1876 – 11 April 1952) was a Lebanese composer and founder of the Conservatoire Libanais. Life Wadia (Wadih) Sabra was born in 1876 in the village of Ain el Jdideh and died in Beirut in 1952. He married Adèle Misk in 1921 and had no children. He was buried in the Evangelical Cemetery in Sodeco Beirut. As a composer, his music is characterized as a blend of Western and Eastern musical languages, incorporating the strengths and charms of both traditions.
