Sabih Al-Masri
Sabih Taher Darwish al-Masri is a Jordanian-Palestinian businessman. He is the founder and chairman of Arab Supply and Trading Company (Astra Group). He is also the chairman of Zara Investment Holding, Astra Industries, Paltel Corporation and Arab Bank, and a founder of the Palestine Securities Exchange (PSE). He is the cousin of Munib al-Masri. Zara Investment Holding Co Ltd. was founded on 10 May 1994 by Sabih al-Masri, the current chairman, and Khalil Talhouni, in addition to a number of investors and local banks and Arab and international investment companies, such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Zara invests primarily in tourism; particularly, in the hotels sector. Zara is one of the largest investment groups in Jordan. The Palestine Exchange (PEX) ( ar, بورصة فلسطين, ''bursat filasteen'') is a stock exchange based in Nablus in the Palestinian territories. The PEX was established in 1995, and currently operates under the supervision of the Palestinian Capital Market Authority (CMA). In 2015, the CEO of the PEX was Ahmed Aweidah. The PEX aims to provide an environment for trading that is characterized by equity, transparency and competence, serving and maintaining the interest of investors. As of December 2012, 48 companies were listed on the PEX, with a total market capitalization of about US$3 billion in five main areas: financial services, insurance, investments, industry, and services. Munib Rashid al-Masri ( ar, منيب رشيد المصري), also known as the "Duke of Nablus", and "the Godfather"(b. 1934), is a Palestinian industrialist, philanthropist, and patriarch of the al-Masri family.
