Trujillo Alto
Trujillo Alto (, ) is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the Northern Coastal Plain, on the boundary between the karst zone and Sierra de Luquillo, north of Caguas, and Gurabo; southeast of San Juan, and west of Carolina. Trujillo Alto is part of the San Juan Metropolitan Area, which includes the municipalities of Bayamón, Guaynabo, Cataño, and Toa Baja. Mall Of San Juan
The Mall of San Juan is a upscale shopping mall located across from the San José Lagoon at the south end of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, near the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It opened its doors on March 26, 2015 and it was anchored by the now-vacant Nordstrom, being the first store in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The mall also had a Saks Fifth Avenue until September 20, 2017 when it was destroyed by Hurricane Maria and on October 30, 2018, Saks announced that it would not reopen at the mall. Original plans included the construction of an office tower and a hotel and casino and was originally set to begin construction later in 2015 and to be completed by 2017. However, it was never built. Puerto Rico Highway 8
Puerto Rico Highway 8 (PR-8) is a main highway that serves as a third route (the others being PR-3 and PR-26) from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Carolina, Puerto Rico. It is, still, a highly congested highway, noticeable when congestion jams are found in PR-17 where PR-8 begins and it continues to PR-3. The first kilometers of PR-8 (east of PR-17) were known before as Puerto Rico Highway 4, but the Department of Transportation renumbered the entire highway PR-8 and there is no longer a PR-4. Laguna San José (Puerto Rico)
The San José Lagoon (Spanish: ''Laguna de San José'') is a shallow saline water lake or lagoon located between the municipalities of San Juan and Carolina in northern Puerto Rico. Despite being located in a highly urbanized area this body of water is important for its mangrove forests. The lagoon is located between San Juan and the island's main airport and a bridge that connects the two was opened in 1994. Ecology The lagoon is of ecological importance due to the mangrove forests that grow on its shores which are home to numerous benthic species of flora and fauna. This ecosystem has been threatened due to the fast urbanization of San Juan and its urban area. Some of the fish species found in the lagoon are tarpon, ladyfish, and the common snook (''Centropomus undecimalis''). Teodoro Moscoso Bridge
The Teodoro Moscoso Bridge is a bridge in Puerto Rico. It works as an extension of PR-17, also known as the Jesus T. Piñero Expressway, connecting this road with the Román Baldorioty de Castro Expressway ( PR-26). It crosses the San José Lagoon thereby linking sectors of Rio Piedras in San Juan to Isla Verde Carolina neighbor. The bridge has become the new entrance to the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. It was opened on February 28, 1994 under the administration of Governor Pedro Rosselló, this construction being the first to be held under a Public Private Partnership in Puerto Rico.
