Saarlandliga
The Saarlandliga (English: ''Saarland league'') is currently the sixth tier of the German football league system in the German federal state of Saarland. It was a new league, introduced at the end of the 2008-09 season. In the past, the term ''Saarlandliga'' has unofficially been used for what was at times the Ehrenliga Saarland, the Amateurliga Saarland and, from 1978, the Verbandsliga Saarland. The new league however carries its name officially and is not known by any other name. Overview The league was introduced after a decision made by the ''Saarland Football Association'' on 31 May 2008. It was decided that the new league would be operating from the 2009-10 season onwards and slotted in between the tier-five Oberliga Südwest and, from then on, the tier-seven Verbandsliga Saarland. SV Mettlach
SV Mettlach is a German association football club from the city of Mettlach, Saarland. __TOC__ History The side has its origins in the establishment of the gymnastics club ''Turnverein Mettlach'' in 1885. A football department was formed in 1920 and became independent in 1923. Following World War II all organizations across the country, including sports and football associations, were ordered disbanded by occupying Allied authorities. The team was re-established 12 May 1946 as Spielvereinigung Mettlach out of the former memberships of several local clubs and resumed its traditional identity as Sportverein 1920 Mettlach in 1950. Following the war, the Saarland was occupied by France and administered as the Saar protectorate. FV Diefflen
The FV Diefflen is a German association football club from the Diefflen suburb of Dillingen, Saarland. The club's greatest success has been to earn promotion to the tier five Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar in 2014. History The club was formed in 1907, originally under the name of FC Diefflen. At the time a number of loosely organised clubs existed in Diefflen which all merged into the current club, FV Diefflen, in 1919. At the end of the First World War, Diefflen, like the rest of the Saarland, was occupied by the French military. FSV Jägersburg
FSV Jägersburg is a German association football club from the Jägersburg suburb of Homburg, Saarland. The club's men's department greatest success has been promotion to the tier five Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar in 2015. The club's women's department, now defunct, last played in the tier three Regionalliga Südwest in 2014–15 and has played as high as the 2. Bundesliga. FC Hertha Wiesbach
The FC Hertha Wiesbach is a German association football club from the Wiesenbach suburb of Eppelborn, Saarland. The club's greatest success has been to earn promotion to the tier five Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar in 2013. History The club was formed in August 1908 as SSK Hertha Mangelhausen, with the name Hertha derived from the much more famous Hertha BSC Berlin. In the mid-1920s the club adopted its current name. For most of its history the club has been a non-descript amateur side in local football. The clubs slow rise through the league system began in 1992 when it earned promotion to the then tier-six Bezirksliga Saarland-Nord. Wiesenbach played in this league for the next eight season until a league championship took it up to the Landesliga in 2000. SV Röchling Völklingen is a German association football club that plays in Völklingen, part of the greater Saarbrücken, Saarland. The club draws its name from the Röchling family, owners of the Völklingen Ironworks steel factory, a former sponsor of the club which closed down in 1986. History The club was founded as ''FC Völklingen'' on 26 April 1906 and renamed ''SV Völklingen'' in 1912 before folding in 1916 as a consequence of the fighting along the frontier with France in World War I. Verbandsliga Saarland
The Verbandsliga Saarland is currently the seventh tier of the German football league system in the German federated state of Saarland. Until the introduction of the Saarlandliga in 2009 it was the sixth tier, until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. From the 2012-13 season onwards the league will be played in two regional divisions and the Landesligas below it increased in numbers from two to four. Borussia VfB Neunkirchen is a German association football club based in Neunkirchen, Saarland. The club ''SC Borussia Neunkirchen'' was founded out of the 1907 merger of ''FC 1905 Borussia'' and ''SC Neunkirchen''. SV Auersmacher is a German football club from the Auersmacher quarter of Kleinblittersdorf, Saarland. It was established on 15 July 1919 as ''Fußballclub Auersmacher''.Grüne, Hardy (2001). The Deutscher Sportclub für Fußballstatistiken e.V., (English: ''German sports club for football statistics'') short DSFS is an association dedicated to collecting and publishing German football statistics, similar to the RSSSF, and is a member of the German Olympic Society. The club used to be best known for its annual publication, the ''Deutscher Fussball-Almanach'', a yearbook on German football. Unlike other yearbooks, it does not so much focus on professional football, but rather covers the higher amateur leagues. History The DSFS was formed on 1 July 1971 but was only registered in 1979. It was formed by six football enthusiasts after Helmut Druwen posted an add in the ''kicker'' sport magazine looking for people interested in football statistics.
