Saale-Orla is a ''Kreis'' (district) in the east of Thuringia, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) the districts Saale-Holzland, Greiz, the Vogtlandkreis in Saxony, the Bavarian districts Hof and Kronach Kronach ( East Franconian: ''Gronich'') is a town in Upper Franconia, Germany, located in the Frankenwald area. Neustadt An Der Orla
Neustadt an der Orla is a town in Saale-Orla-Kreis district, in Thuringia. It is situated at the small river Orla (Saale), Orla, 17 km north of Schleiz, and 25 km southeast of Jena. The former municipality Stanau was merged into Neustadt an der Orla in January 2019, and Linda bei Neustadt an der Orla, Knau and Dreba in December 2019. Geography Setting The additive, which differentiates Neustadt an der Orla from other towns named Neustadt, owed the town the Orla (Saale), Orla River. The Orla rises east of the town Triptis. Near Orlamünde the Orla flows into the river Saale. The district is called after these two rivers that are typical for this region. Schleiz is a town in the district of Saale-Orla-Kreis in Thuringia, Germany. The former municipality Crispendorf was merged into Schleiz in January 2019, and Burgk in December 2019. Gefell
Gefell is a town in the Saale-Orla-Kreis district, in Thuringia, Germany. Overview It is situated 16 km south of Schleiz, and 14 km northwest of Hof. It is where the Berlin professional audio company Georg Neumann GmbH relocated during World War II. During the time of the GDR, Gefell was in East Germany and private companies were nationalized, including this factory. Since reunification, the company, now known as Microtech Gefell, has specialized in microphones and is once again privately owned, this time by the families of managers of the pre-war Neumann company.
