Saaheb
''Saaheb'' () is a 1985 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Anil Ganguly. It is a remake of the 1981 Bengali film ''Saheb'' directed by Bijoy Bose. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Raakhee, Deven Verma, Utpal Dutt, Biswajit, Vijay Arora, A. K. Hangal and Dilip Dhawan. The music was composed by Bappi Lahiri. The plot follows Saaheb, the youngest son of a family, who is focused on football. Due to this, everyone in the family constantly tells him he is no good. However, when circumstances demand, he gives up his kidney to fund his sister's marriage, at the cost of his football career. The movie has catchy songs like - "Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re" and "Kya Khabar Kya Pata" - which remain popular to this day. Anil Ganguly
Anil Ganguly (26 January 1933 – 15 January 2016) was an Indian film director and screenwriter, who worked in Hindi cinema from 1970s to 2001. He is best known for Jaya Bhaduri starrer, ''Kora Kagaz'' (1974) and the Rakhee starrer ''Tapasya'' (1975), both of which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. He is also known for his films with Rakhee like Trishna, Aanchal, Saaheb (1985). Later in his career, after 1986 he made seven films none of which succeeded. Utpal Dutta () (29 March 1929 – 19 August 1993) was an Indian actor, director, and writer-playwright.
