Sakaeo Football Club (Thai : สโมสรฟุตบอลจังหวัดสระแก้ว) is a Thailand professional football club based in Mueang Sa Kaeo District, Sa Kaeo province. The team plays their home matches at Sa Kaeo Provincial Administrative Organization Stadium. The club is currently playing in the Thai League 3 Eastern region. Sa Kaeo Province
Sa Kaeo ( th, สระแก้ว, ) is one of the 76 provinces (''changwat'') and lies in eastern Thailand about 200 km from Bangkok. Neighboring provinces are (from south clockwise) Chanthaburi, Chachoengsao, Prachinburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Buriram. To the east it borders Banteay Meanchey and Battambang of Cambodia. History Sa Kaeo became a province in 1993, when the six districts Sa Kaeo, Khlong Hat, Wang Nam Yen, Aranyaprathet, Ta Phraya, and Watthana Nakhon of Prachinburi province were elevated to provincial status. It is thus one of the four newest provinces of Thailand, together with Amnat Charoen, Nong Bua Lamphu, and most recently, Bueng Kan. The province is overwhelmingly Theravada Buddhist (99.4 percent). In 1979 Sa Kaeo Refugee Camp was established northwest of Sa Kaeo town. It closed in 1989, but the legacy of the border clashes of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s is ever present. It was sponsored by Toyota, and known as the Toyota League Cup ( th, โตโยต้า ลีกคัพ) for sponsorship purposes. 82 clubs were accepted into the tournament, and it began with the first qualification round on 28 February 2018, and concluded with the final on 20 October 2018. The tournament has been readmitted back into Thai football after a 10-year absence. The prize money for this prestigious award is said to be around 5 million baht and the runners-up will be netting 1 million baht. The prize money is not the only benefit of this cup, the team winning the fair play spot will get a Hilux Vigo. The MVP of the competition will get a Toyota Camry Hybrid Car. The 2018 Thai FA Cup is the 25th season of a Thailand's knockout football competition. It was sponsored by Chang, and known as the Chang FA Cup ( th, ช้าง เอฟเอคัพ) for sponsorship purposes. The Chang FA Cup 2016 ( th, ช้าง เอฟเอคัพ) is the 23rd season of Thailand knockout football competition. The tournament is organized by the Football Association of Thailand. Following the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Football Association of Thailand cancelled the remaining league and cup season on 14 October 2016, stating that the FA Cup winners would be determined by a lottery draw. This was at the semi-final stage of the competition and would determine who would represent Thailand in Asian competition. The following day however (15 October), FAT appeared to do a U-turn and announced that further discussions with key stake holders would determine whether the league campaign would continue. These discussions were required as teams that were in the relegation places at the time of the original announcement were voicing their concerns.
