SVT Uutiset
Uutiset is a news programme from Sveriges Television. It is broadcast on SVT2 during 17:45 to 17:55 in Finnish. However, just like most foreign-language programmes aired on Swedish television, the show is subtitled in Swedish, but when an interviewee responds in Swedish the response is subtitled into Finnish. The program started broadcasting on 22 August 1988. Before the "Nyhetsflytt" (News swap) on 15 January 2001, Uutiset was broadcast on Kanal 1 and SVT1 at 17:50. It was launched on 22 August 1988 together with SVT's channel in Finland, SVT4 (later renamed as SVT Europa). SVT2
SVT2 (SVT Två; commonly referred to as Tvåan), is one of the two main television channels broadcast by Sveriges Television in Sweden. Launched in 1969 by Sveriges Radio, the channel was until the 1990s the most watched in Sweden for many years, but now serves as SVT's specialist television network, carrying more highbrow and minority programming compared to the more mainstream SVT1. History Debate persisted throughout the 1960s over a second Swedish television channel, following the opening of ''Radiotjänst TV'' (later ''Sveriges Radio TV'') in 1956. Some wanted the new channel to be private and funded by advertising, but it was decided that the public service broadcaster, Sveriges Radio, would take responsibility. Sweden Finns ( fi, ruotsinsuomalaiset; sv, sverigefinnar) are a Finnish-speaking national minority in Sweden. People with Finnish heritage comprise a relatively large share of the population of Sweden. SVT1 (SVT Ett; commonly referred to as Ettan) is the primary television station of the Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television in Sweden. History Television in Sweden officially launched on 4 September 1956 with the launch of ''Radiotjänst TV'', which was renamed ''Sveriges Radio TV'' a year later. The arrival of a second television network, TV2, led to the first channel relaunching as ''TV1'' in 1969, while remaining under the Sveriges Radio banner. Full-time colour broadcasting started in 1970 before both networks were placed under the management of Sveriges Television (SVT) on 1 July 1979. SVT Europa
SVT World was an international television channel from the Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television. The channel was available on satellite in Europe and much of Africa, Australia and Asia, terrestrially in parts of Finland and worldwide via IPTV. The broadcasts were mostly made up of the Swedish language programmes from SVT1 and SVT2. If both SVT1 and SVT2 show a programme for which SVT does not have international rights, programmes from SVT24 or Kunskapskanalen are shown. When SVT1 and SVT2 are not broadcasting, SVT24 is shown. Teletext pages from SVT Text were included in the broadcasts. The radio channels Radio Sweden and SR P4 were also included with SVT Europa.
