SVN Zweibrücken
SVN Zweibrücken is a German association football club from the Niederauerbach quarter of Zweibrücken, Rhineland-Palatinate. History The association was founded in 1929 as ''SV Niederauerbach'' and remained an anonymous local side until winning its way to the Verbandsliga Südwest (V). A decade later the team captured the division title and was promoted to the Oberliga Südwest (V). ''SV'' also advanced to the finals of the Südwest Pokal (South West Cup) in that successful 2007–08 season, which earned the club a place in the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) tournament in 2008–09. In June 2009 the club changed its name to ''SVN Zweibrücken''. Since entering the Oberliga Südwest in 2008 the team has achieved good results, culminating in a second-place finish in 2011–12. From 2012-13 the Oberliga Südwest was renamed Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar, with ''SVN Zweibrücken'' taking out the league title in its inaugural season and earning promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest. The Regionalliga Südwest ( en, Regional League Southwest) is the fourth tier of the German football league system in the states of Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. 2013–14 Verbandspokal
The 2013–14 Verbandspokal, (''English: 2013–14 Association Cup'') consisting of twenty one regional cup competitions, the Verbandspokale, was the qualifying competition for the 2014–15 DFB-Pokal, the German Cup. All clubs from the 3. Liga and below could enter the regional Verbandspokale, subject to the rules and regulations of each region. Clubs from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga could not enter but were instead directly qualified for the first round of the DFB-Pokal. All twenty one winners and three additional clubs from the three largest regional football associations, Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia, were qualified for the first round of the German Cup in the following season. The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The South West Cup (german: Südwestpokal) is one of the 21 regional cup competitions of German football. The winner of the competition gains entry to the first round of the German Cup. It is limited to clubs from the Rheinhessen-Pfalz region of Rhineland-Palatinate, however, teams from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga are not permitted to compete. It is one of two cup competitions in the state, the other being the Rhineland Cup, which covers roughly the northern half of the state.
