SUNTRACS F.C.
Veraguas C.D. is a Panamanian football team playing at the Liga Panameña de Fútbol. It is based in Santiago de Veraguas and it has been in the LPF League since the 2021 season, part of the league's twelve team expansion project. History The club was founded in 2005 by the Sindicato Único Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Construcción y Similares de Panamá (SUNTRACS). In 2010 SUNTRACS was promoted to the Liga Nacional de Ascenso after defeating Los Pumas 5–0 in the Copa Rommel Fernández final. During their first season in the second division they were able to play the promotion playoff against Colón C-3 after defeating Independiente in penalties during the 2011 Clausura final. Unfortunately for the ''sindicalistas'', they were defeated 2–0 and remained in the second division. Liga Panameña De Fútbol
The Liga Panameña de Fútbol (LPF) ( en, Panamanian Football League) is the top division football league in Panama. Until 2009, the league was named ''Asociación Nacional Pro Fútbol (ANAPROF)''. Competition format The league's season is divided into two tournaments called the Apertura and Clausura. Teams are divided into two Conferences (Eastern and Western). The Eastern Conference is composed by: Tauro, Plaza Amador, Alianza, Club Deportivo del Este, Arabe Unido, and Sporting San Miguelito, while the Western Conference is composed by: Herrera FC, Club Atletico Independiente, Veraguas, Club Universitario, Chiriqui, and San Francisco. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. SUNTRACS FC (2009)
SUNTRACS (National Union of Workers of Construction and Similar Industries; ) is one of the leading trade union forces in Panama, with 40,000 members and a Militant (word), militant style of syndicalism, class war unionism. It is the leader union within Coordinadora de Unidad Sindical (CONUSI), the most radical of the major union federations in Panama. Led by Genaro López, SUNTRACS has initiated three general strikes in the past few years, and has been the instrumental force within FRENADESO, the national coalition to prevent the privatization of Panama's social security. It has been closely connected with radical leftist groups and Padre Conrado Sanjur, an important local figure in liberation theology. The union campaigns for the on-the-job safety of its members.
