The Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding ( ar, مركز الشيخ Ù…Øمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للتواصل الØضاري; SMCCU) is a non-profit organisation which promotes awareness of Emirati culture, customs, traditions and religion among Expatriates in the United Arab Emirates, expatriates and foreign visitors in the United Arab Emirates, as well as aiming to remove cultural barriers. SMCCU was founded in 1998 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammed IV and is based in a traditional Emirati Windcatcher, wind tower house, located in Bur Dubai's historic Al Bastakiya, Al Fahidi neighbourhood. It operates under the banner of "Open Doors. Open Minds." The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is an authority under Government of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, which works in preservation of the cultural heritage and support of cultural scene in Dubai. History Established in 2008 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as an entity to manage and support the art and culture infrastructure in the Emirate as well as preservation of the cultural heritage. Jumeirah Mosque
Jumeirah Mosque ( ar, 1=مسجد جميرا) is a mosque in Dubai, Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Construction began in 1976; the mosque is built in traditional Fatimid style which originated from Syria and Egypt.
