SJ Esau
SJ Esau is the music project of Sam Wisternoff, an experimental pop musician from Bristol, England. Although ostensibly a solo project, Wisternoff is often joined by the drummer Sean Talbot and has incorporated a variety of other musicians into recording projects and live performances. History and work Born on 28 November 1977, Wisternoff’s music career began in the late 1980s as a prepubescent rapper, collaborating with his brother, Jody Wisternoff to release a single on Smith & Mighty’s Three Stripe Records. Spending his later teenage years in indie rock band, The Pudding, Wisternoff released the first SJ Esau album, ''Queezy Beliefs'', in 1999 on his Enormous Corpse label which was followed by various CDR albums and limited edition releases for labels such as Static Caravan Recordings, Twisted Nerve Records and Fooltribe. Bristol
Bristol () is a city, ceremonial county and unitary authority in England. ''Small Vessel'' is the second studio album by British indie rock musician SJ Esau. It was released on Anticon in 2008. Critical reception Matt Rinaldi of AllMusic commented that ''Small Vessel'' "continues in the same genre-bending vein as its predecessor, blending elements of indie rock, folk, hip-hop, house, techno-pop, and industrial to create an end-product that is delightfully disorienting." Half-handed Cloud
Half-handed Cloud is an American recording project, based in Helsinki, Finland since 2015. It was started in 1999 as a one-man band by John Ringhofer, who created the band name based on an occurrence in the Old Testament. The majority of Half-handed Cloud's albums have been released on Asthmatic Kitty Records. His previous band was Wookieback with Matthew Vollmer and Brandon Buckner. Ringhofer, a vegetarian, lived rent free in return for his custodial services at a church in Berkeley, CA for a decade. John Ringhofer has collaborated with Sufjan Stevens on Half-handed Cloud's '' What's The Remedy?'' 7-inch, among other works such as '' Thy Is A Word And Feet Need Lamps'', and 2014's ''Flying Scroll Flight Control''. Bronnt Industries Kapital is a musical project from Bristol, England based around producer and multi-instrumentalist Guy Bartell. It has released six studio albums, ''Virtute et Industria'', ''Häxan'', ''Hard for Justice'', ''Turksib'', ''Arsenal'' and ''Force The Line''. Bronnt Industries Kapital's first releases were limited edition CDs and vinyl on Bristol labels Silent Age, Clean Cut and Float records. Get The Blessing
Get the Blessing (previously known as the Blessing) are a jazz rock quartet based in Bristol, England. The band formed in 2000 when Jim Barr (bass guitar) and Clive Deamer (drums), who had played with Portishead, joined Jake McMurchie (saxophone) and Pete Judge (trumpet) over their appreciation of Ornette Coleman. Get the Blessing have released six albums; their debut '' All Is Yes'' won best album at the 2008 BBC Jazz Awards. Their album ''Bristopia'' was released in 2018. Style Get the Blessing combines jazz and rock. Most of their songs are instrumental, although there have been guest singers such as Tammy Payne on "The Unnameable" and "Music Style Product" and Deamer on "Bugs in Amber". Gravenhurst (band)
Gravenhurst was the musical pseudonym of the English singer-songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist and journalist Nicholas John Talbot (14 May 1977 – 2 December 2014). Talbot, from Bristol, England, signed to Warp Records. He died aged 37. His cause of death is undisclosed. History While Talbot began performing solo, in 1999 additional musicians helped expand Gravenhurst into a live band, with drummer Dave Collingwood also contributing performance and production work to several recordings. From 2004 to 2006 Gravenhurst performed as a trio with Huw Cooksley on bass guitar. On tour throughout 2007 and 2008, Robin Allender played bass, and Alex Wilkins played guitar.
