St. Joseph's Institution International (often referred to as "SJI International" or "SJII") is an independent co-educational Lasallian Catholic international school at Thomson Road in Novena, Singapore. It comprises an elementary and high school. The elementary school students range in age from 4-12 while in the High School the students are aged 12–18. The high school was founded in 2006 and the elementary school opened in 2008. The elementary school teaches the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which is used by over 1000 schools in 65 countries around the world. The Jardine Scholarship is a full scholarship, primarily for undergraduates, offered by Jardines for study at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. It was established in 1982 to commemorate the company's 150th anniversary and was founded with the objective of developing future leaders, who would give back to the societies in which Jardine Matheson operates. Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) (Formerly 'Creativity, Action, Service') is a mandatory core component of the IB Diploma Programme. It aims to provide a 'counterbalance' to the academic rigour of the educational programme. Before the 2010 examination there was a 150-hour requirement, with an approximately equal distribution of creativity, activity, and service. This requirement was removed mainly for two reasons: to ensure that students engage in meaningful activities and to decrease the amount of CAS fraud (i.e. claiming hours which have not been completed).
