SITE Town
SITE Town (), located in the southern part of Karachi, Pakistan, is named after the Sindh Industrial & Trading Estate. It was established in 2001 under the Local Government Ordinance and subdivided into nine union councils. In 2011, the town system was abolished, and SITE Town became part of Karachi West District. However, following Karachi's reorganisation into 26 towns in 2022, SITE became part of Kemari District, after Kemari District was carved out of Karachi West District in 2020. Karachi, which is the most populated city in Pakistan, was a federation of eighteen autonomous boroughs, called "Towns," that made up the City District of Karachi from 2001 until 2011. Under this now-defunct system, Karachi had a local government system, with a mayor empowered to make decisions in regards to city-planning and administration of local services. The system was abolished in 2011, and Karachi was divided into 5 City District Municipal Corporations, with a 6th formed in 2013. Gadap Town
Gadap Town () is an administrative subdivision of Malir District in the northwestern part of Karachi with the Hub River on its western limits also forming the provincial border between Sindh and Balochistan, Pakistan, Balochistan, while to the north and east are Jamshoro District and the Kirthar Mountains. The amended 2022 Local Election Act introduced by the Sindh government had notified the town system in Karachi. Karachi Metropolitan Corporation () is a public corporation and governing body to provide municipal services in most of Karachi, the capital of Sindh. History 1846 Karachi Conservancy Board was established to control cholera epidemics in Karachi during British rule in 1846. Orangi Town
Orangi Town () is a residential town of Orangi District located in the northwestern part of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was named after the sprawling municipality of Orangi. Keamari Town (), () lies in the southern part of Karachi, Pakistan, and was named after the historic seaside municipality of Keamari. Keamari Town was formed in 2001 as part of the Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 union councils. Lyari River
Lyari River () is a small ephemeral stream that flows through the Pakistani megacity of Karachi from north east to the center and drains into the Arabian Sea at the Manora, Karachi, Manora channel.
