Kamailio, formerly OpenSER (and sharing some common history with SIP Express Router (SER)), is a Session Initiation Protocol, SIP server licensed under the GNU General Public License, GPL-2.0-or-later license. It can be configured to act as a SIP registrar, proxy or redirect server, and features presence support, RADIUS/syslog accounting and authorization, XML-RPC and JSON-RPC-based remote control, SQL and NoSQL backends, IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS/VoLTE extensions and others. Sipgate, stylised as sipgate, is a European VoIP and mobile telephony operator. Company Sipgate was founded in 2004 and became one of Germany's largest VoIP service providers for consumers and small businesses. Through its network, which used SIP protocol, it allowed making low-cost national and international calls and provided customers with an incoming geographical phone number. Customers were expected to use a client software or a SIP-compliant hardware (a VoIP phone or ATA) to access its services.
