Sfera (helmet)
The Sfera (russian: Сфера, ), officially called STSh-81, are bullet-resistant combat helmets of titanium and steel manufactured with protective GOST rating of 2. They are worn by the Internal Troops of the Interior Ministry in the Soviet Union and its successor state Russia. These helmets continue to be used today by the police and special purpose troops. History As early as 1984, the KGB had titanium helmets developed at military research facilities, which were further used and further developed by the FSB and special forces of the military after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Design Unlike most combat helmets, they are not one piece, but consist of three separate plates: two round ones on the sides of the head, and one bow-shaped one that sits on top, stretching from the neck to the forehead. Sfera (TEKh-44) is a small passive satellite deployed during a spacewalk from the ISS in August 2012. Description Also called the Vektor-T calibration sphere, the Sfera satellite is used to determine the density of the upper atmosphere by measuring how much drag occurs when the satellite passes through it. Sfera is a telecommunication project of the Russian Federation aiming to create and operate a satellite group maintaining communication to various terrestrial objects. The project is supported by the corresponding Federal Targeted Program and is proposed until 2030. The initial plan proposed 640 satellites by 2030 and supported terrestrial and aerial autonomous users. Sfera is the largest mall in Bielsko-Biała, Poland housing about 120 shops, music club, cinema (Helios) and supermarket. Area: 38000 square meters. SFera
SFera is a science fiction society from Zagreb, Croatia. It was founded in 1976, thus marking the beginnings of organised science fiction fandom in the region. SFera is the official organiser of SFeraKon, an annual Croatian science fiction convention. Since 1995, it also publishes annual collections of science fiction stories of Croatian authors. The founder of the collection series and its first editor was Darko Macan. SFera's own fanzine, ''Parsek'', has been published since 1977. Although Croatia today has number of science fictions societies and conventions, as well the annual short fiction anthologies, SFera remains the major national society. Since mid-1970s, its members and founders - among them Krsto A. SFERA Award
The SFera Award is awarded annually by the science fiction society SFera in Zagreb since 1981. Until 1991, it was given to participants from whole of Yugoslavia, but since 1994 only for works originally published in Croatian. The SFera award is given to the best accomplishments in science fiction (as well as in fantasy and horror genre) first published or shown in Croatia over the preceding year. At the beginning, the award was only for literary works, but with time, expanded to many categories. SFeraKon
SFeraKon is a science fiction convention that takes place in Zagreb, Croatia every year at the end of April. Organised by SFera, it is the largest and the longest running science fiction convention in southeastern Europe. The first SFeraKon under that name was held in 1983, continuing the tradition of "''science fiction days in Zagreb''" after Yukon, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav national science fiction convention, started taking place in other towns, the first few having taken place in Zagreb. Since 1994 it is being held on the grounds of University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. ''Sfera Stin Kardia'' (Greek: ''Σφαίρα Στην Καρδιά''; English: ''Bullet in the heart'') is the fourth studio album of Greek artist, Mariada Pieridi. It was released on 5 December 2005 by Universal Music Greece and later received gold certification, selling 20,000 units in Greece. Lazăr Sfera ''( sr, Lazar Sfera)'' (29 April 1909, in Sân Mihai, Austria-Hungary (today in Serbia) – 24 April 1992) was a Romanian footballer who played as a defender. Biography At club level, he began his career at the youth team of Politehnica Timișoara from 1923 to 1925. He stayed at the club until 1929. He then left for Liga I team Banatul Timișoara before signing for one season at Rômania Cluj. He then left for Universitatea Cluj until 1934. He ended his career at Venus București. He retired in 1941. With the Romania national football team, he was picked by joint coaches Josef Uridil and Costel Rădulescu to take part in the 1934 World Cup in Italy.
