Splicing factor 1 also known as zinc finger protein 162 (ZFM162) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''SF1'' gene. Splicing factor SF1 is involved in the ATP-dependent formation of the spliceosome complex. SF1 gene is necessary to make the bipotential gonad ; but while SF1 levels decline in the genital ridge of XX mouse embryos, the SF1 gene stays on the developing testes. SF 1 (transcription factor) appears to be active in masculining both the Leydig cells and Sertoli cells. In Sertoli cells with the SOX9 protein it elevates the level of AMH transcription. In Leydig cells it activates the gene encoding the enzyme that make testosterone hormone. Helicases are a class of enzymes thought to be vital to all organisms. Their main function is to unpack an organism's genetic material. Helicases are motor proteins that move directionally along a nucleic acid phosphodiester backbone, separating two hybridized nucleic acid strands (hence '' helic- + -ase''), using energy from ATP hydrolysis. The steroidogenic factor 1 (SF-1) protein is a transcription factor involved in sex determination by controlling activity of genes related to the reproductive glands or gonads and adrenal glands. This protein is encoded by the NR5A1 gene, a member of the nuclear receptor subfamily, located on the long arm of chromosome 9 at position 33.3. It was originally identified as a regulator of genes encoding cytochrome P450 steroid hydroxylases, however, further roles in endocrine function have since been discovered. Structure The ''NR5A1'' gene encodes a 461-amino acid protein that shares several conserved domains consistent with members of the nuclear receptor subfamily. The (often described as the SF1 SNES TV) is a television set produced by Sharp Corporation with a built-in licensed Super Famicom. Released only to Japanese markets, the unit retailed in 1990 as a next generation successor to the 1983 C1 television also produced by Sharp and licensed by Nintendo.
