SF1 (gene)
Splicing factor 1 also known as zinc finger protein 162 (ZFM162) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''SF1'' gene. Splicing factor SF1 is involved in the ATP-dependent formation of the spliceosome complex. SF1 gene is necessary to make the bipotential gonad ; but while SF1 levels decline in the genital ridge of XX mouse embryos, the SF1 gene stays on the developing testes. SF 1 (transcription factor) appears to be active in masculining both the Leydig cells and Sertoli cells. In Sertoli cells with the SOX9 protein it elevates the level of AMH transcription. In Leydig cells it activates the gene encoding the enzyme that make testosterone hormone. Interactions SF1 (gene) has been shown to interact with Ewing sarcoma breakpoint region 1, U2AF2, Testis determining factor, and Transcription elongation regulator 1 Transcription elongation regulator 1, also known as TCERG1, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the ''TCERG1'' gene. Helicase
Helicases are a class of enzymes thought to be vital to all organisms. Their main function is to unpack an organism's genetic material. Helicases are motor proteins that move directionally along a nucleic acid phosphodiester backbone, separating two hybridized nucleic acid strands (hence '' helic- + -ase''), using energy from ATP hydrolysis. There are many helicases, representing the great variety of processes in which strand separation must be catalyzed. Approximately 1% of eukaryotic genes code for helicases. The human genome codes for 95 non-redundant helicases: 64 RNA helicases and 31 DNA helicases. Many cellular processes, such as DNA replication, transcription, translation, recombination, DNA repair, and ribosome biogenesis involve the separation of nucleic acid strands that necessitates the use of helicases. Some specialized helicases are also involved in sensing of viral nucleic acids during infection and fulfill a immunological function. Function Helicases are o ... Steroidogenic Factor 1
The steroidogenic factor 1 (SF-1) protein is a transcription factor involved in sex determination by controlling activity of genes related to the reproductive glands or gonads and adrenal glands. This protein is encoded by the NR5A1 gene, a member of the nuclear receptor subfamily, located on the long arm of chromosome 9 at position 33.3. It was originally identified as a regulator of genes encoding cytochrome P450 steroid hydroxylases, however, further roles in endocrine function have since been discovered. Structure The ''NR5A1'' gene encodes a 461-amino acid protein that shares several conserved domains consistent with members of the nuclear receptor subfamily. The N-terminal domain includes two zinc fingers and is responsible for DNA binding via specific recognition of target sequences. Variations of AGGTCA DNA motifs allows SF-1 to interact with the major groove of the DNA helix and monomerically bind. Following binding, trans-activation of target genes depends on recru ... Star Fox (1993 Video Game)
, known as ''Starwing'' in PAL regions, is a 3D rail shooter game developed by Nintendo and Argonaut Software for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The first game in the ''Star Fox'' series, the story follows Fox McCloud and the rest of the Star Fox team defending their homeworld of Corneria against the invading forces of Andross. ''Star Fox'' was the second 3D Nintendo game after '' X'' for the Game Boy in 1992, and the first Nintendo game to use polygonal graphics, achieved with the Super FX graphics chip included in the cartridge. The complex display of three-dimensional models with polygons was uncommon in console games. ''Star Fox'' received critical acclaim and is often considered one of the greatest video games. It sold more than four million copies and established the ''Star Fox'' series as a flagship Nintendo franchise. The next-released game in the series, ''Star Fox 64'', was a 1997 reboot for the Nintendo 64. Nintendo re-released ''Star Fox'' worldwide for ... Street Fighter (video Game)
is a 1987 arcade game developed by Capcom. It is the first competitive fighting game produced by the company and the first installment in the ''Street Fighter'' series. It was a commercial success in arcades and introduced special attacks and some of the conventions made standard in later fighting games, such as the six-button controls and the use of command-based special moves. ''Street Fighter'' was directed by Takashi Nishiyama, who conceived it by adapting the boss battles of his earlier beat 'em up game '' Kung-Fu Master'' (1984) for a one-on-one fighting game, and by drawing influence from popular Japanese shōnen manga. A port for the PC Engine/TurboGrafx CD console was released as in 1988, and was re-released for the Wii's Virtual Console in 2009. Its sequel, '' Street Fighter II'' (1991), evolved its gameplay with phenomenal worldwide success. ''Street Fighter'' also spawned two spiritual successors, Capcom's beat 'em up ''Final Fight'' (working title ''Street Fi ... SF-1 SNES TV
The (often described as the SF1 SNES TV) is a television set produced by Sharp Corporation with a built-in licensed Super Famicom. Released only to Japanese markets, the unit retailed in 1990 as a next generation successor to the 1983 C1 television also produced by Sharp and licensed by Nintendo. Like the C1, the SF1 was noted as having superior picture quality to a SFC plugged into a standard television.Soviero, Marcelle M. and Judith Anne Yeaple. "What's New: Entertaining Hybrid." '' Popular Science''. Vol.240, No.6. Pg.17. June 1992. Overview The SF1 came in two different models varying in screen sizes. The larger SF1 unit featured a 21-inch screen and the smaller featured a 14-inch screen. Both units were colored gray, and both included a ROM-cartridge plugin-slot just above the screen. By merging the SFC and the television into one unit, the SF1 avoided the problem of exposed power cords and other cables. This gave the unit the advantage of being easier to handle. With in ... SRF 1
SRF 1 (''SRF eins'') is a German-language Swiss television channel, one of three produced by the SRG SSR public-service broadcasting group (the others being SRF zwei and SRF info). The channel, formerly known as SF1, was renamed on 16 December 2005, together with its sister German-speaking TV channels and five radio channels, as part of an exercise aimed at emphasizing their common ownership as well as establishing a shared web presence for all of them. The channel promotes itself as "a full-service TV station with a high proportion of home-produced content, especially documentaries and dramas" that offers "news and current affairs, education, arts, and entertainment for all", and it focuses on drama, entertainment, news and current affairs.
