''Seven'' (stylized as ''Se7en'') is a 1995 American crime thriller film directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker. It stars Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and John C. McGinley. Set in a crime-ridden, unnamed city, ''Seven''s plot follows disenchanted, near-retirement detective William Somerset (Freeman) and his new partner, the recently transferred David Mills (Pitt), as they attempt to stop a serial killer before he can complete a series of murders based on the seven deadly sins. Walker, an aspiring writer, wrote ''Seven'' based on his experiences of moving from a suburban setting to New York City in the late 1980s, during a period of rising crime and drug addiction. His script was optioned by an Italian film company which underwent financial difficulties and sold the rights on to New Line Cinema. ''Seven'' (stylized as ''SE7EN'') is a comic book edited by David Seidman and Ralph Tedesco. It was published as a hardcover edition by Zenescope Entertainment on January 15, 2008, and is based on the 1995 film of the same name directed by David Fincher. Zenescope acquired the license to adapt the film after building a strong relationship with New Line Cinema, the owner of the film. Publication history The series, originally published in seven monthly issue series from September 2006 to October 2007, was collected in one hardcover volume in January 2008. Brokencyde (stylized as brokeNCYDE) is an American hip hop group from Albuquerque, New Mexico, founded in 2006. The group's lineup consists of David "Se7en" Gallegos and Michael "Mikl" Shea, and musically are one of the founding groups in the crunkcore genre, which (in general description) is crunk hip hop music with screamed vocals. History Formation, record deal and debut album (2006–2009) Brokencyde was founded by singers Se7en and Mikl. The name of the group supposedly originated from the idea that their music was "broke inside" due to personal problems. Silver Bullet (born Richard David Brown, 12 September 1972 in London, England) is an influential British rapper who according to PopMatters was responsible for starting "Britcore", or British hip hop, in the early 1990s.
