Sociedad Deportiva Logroñés is a Spanish football team based in Logroño, in the autonomous community of La Rioja. Founded in 2009, it plays in Primera División RFEF – Group 2. Team colours are white-and-red shirts and black shorts. History ''Sociedad Deportiva Logroñés'' was founded in 2009, following the serious economic problems which led to the demise of historical Riojan club CD Logroñés. June 4, 2009 is considered the day of the club's founding. Eventually, as Club Deportivo folded, the new team took its place in the regional leagues, starting in 2009–10. In its debut season Sociedad Deportiva finished as champions, earning promotion to Group 16 in Tercera División. 2012 Tercera División Play-offs
The 2012 Tercera División play-offs to Segunda División B from Tercera División (Promotion play-offs) were the final playoffs for the promotion from 2011–12 Tercera División to 2012–13 Segunda División B. The first four teams in each group (excluding reserve teams) took part in the play-off. Format The eighteen group winners have the opportunity to be promoted directly to Segunda División B. The eighteen group winners were drawn into a two-legged series where the nine winners will promote to Segunda División B. The nine losing clubs will enter the play-off round for the last nine promotion spots. 2020–21 Segunda División B
The 2020–21 Segunda División B season was the 44th since its establishment and the last as the third tier. A total of 102 teams participated, and were distributed in three groups of 20 teams each and two groups of 21, with eight subgroups of ten teams each and two with eleven teams each. On 6 May 2020, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced the expansion of the league to what were initially five groups of 20 teams each for the 2020–21 season due to promotion from the Tercera División groups in the curtailed past season being applied. The season began on 18 October, following approval by each of Spain's autonomous regions' health departments. 2019–20 Copa Del Rey
The 2019–20 Copa del Rey was the 118th staging of the Copa del Rey (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). In its original format, the winners were assured a place in the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League group stage, however this place was forfeited under the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, with the two finalists (Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad) opting instead to delay the date of the postponed match. Both finalists qualified for the four-team 2020–21 Supercopa de España. The defending champions Valencia were eliminated by Granada in the quarter-finals. Real Sociedad won the final 1–0 against Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao, achieving their third overall Copa del Rey title and first since 1987, ending a 34-year trophy drought. The 2019–20 Tercera División is the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in August 2019 and was supposed to end in late June 2020 with the promotion play-off finals. On 11 March 2020, the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. On 6 May 2020, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced the premature end of the leagues, revoking all relegations and planning an eventual promotion playoff to be played if possible. The 2012–13 Copa del Rey was the 111th staging of the Copa del Rey (including two seasons where two rival editions were played).
