Scottish Children's Reporter Administration
The Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government, with responsibility for protecting children at risk. SCRA was formed under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1994 and became fully operational on 1 April 1996, taking over responsibility for the existing system of Children's Reporters (see Children's Hearing). SCRA's aim is to "provide a safety net for vulnerable children and deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved, while helping to build stronger families and safer communities". Scottish Countryside Rangers Association
The Scottish Countryside Rangers' Association (SCRA) is the professional association supporting rangers and other countryside professionals in Scotland. Formed in 1974, the association has a strong tradition of supporting its members through the provision of advice, training and the facilitation of networking opportunities. Over recent years, efforts of the association have included organising the International Ranger Federation's 2006 World Ranger Congress in Stirling (in partnership with the Countryside Management Association of England and Wales), producing the Ranger Standards Manual, and starting to implement a programme of continuing professional development for rangers working in Scotland. Over 300 rangers work in Scotland, employed by local government, by public bodies such as Forestry Commission Scotland and Historic Scotland, and by non-governmental organisations such as the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) was a programme by which candidates are selected by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) India, to train in the undergraduate program in mechanical engineering at the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Jamalpur. This programme started in 1927 and is one of the oldest in India. In 2015, Railways decided to close down this examination after UPSC communicated that it was not inclined to continue conducting the examination. However, the Ministry of Finance in 2021, in its report on the rationalisation of Indian Railways has recommended to start conducting the exam again stating that Indian Railways requires specialised training and skills beyond what is part of a regular graduation program.
