SCKBSTD
''SCKBSTD'' is a musical theatre, musical with music and lyrics by Bruce Hornsby, Chip deMatteo and a book by Clay McLeod Chapman, produced in 2011. The story is about what happens to a family when a mysterious stranger arrives in a small town bringing fear and paranoia in his wake. Background A stranger comes to a small town with a terrible secret. His presence has unintended consequences for a doctor (Marcus Lovett) and his wife (Jill Paice). Fear and paranoia grow when a child goes missing. In the end an unbearable loss brings a family and a town back together. The musical's quirky title spelling is a variation on "sick bastard." The show's logo is a vanity license plate. SCKBSTD includes 19 original songs by three-time Grammy Award winner (and 13-time nominee) Bruce Hornsby, who has sold 11 million records. Bruce Randall Hornsby (born November 23, 1954) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. His music draws from folk rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Southern rock, country rock, jam band, rock, heartland rock, and blues rock musical traditions. Hornsby has won three Grammy Awards, including a 1987 Grammy Award for Best New Artist with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, a 1990 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, and a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. Virginia Stage Company (VSC) is a professional theater company located in Hampton Roads, Virginia. VSC presents locally produced plays for over 70,000 patrons a year both at the Wells Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia and throughout the community. Marcus Lovett is an American singer and actor who was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He is known for his roles in musical theatre. His credits include leading roles in ''The Phantom of the Opera'', ''Aspects of Love'', ''Carousel'' and ''King David''. Levitate (Bruce Hornsby Album)
''Levitate'' is the tenth studio album by Bruce Hornsby. It was Hornsby's third studio album with his touring band, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, and was his first release with Verve Records. Somewhat a musical departure for Hornsby and the Noisemakers, ''Levitate'' features no piano solos. Many of the songs also feature lyrical motifs of science and nature. Several songs were co-written with Chip DeMatteo for a stage musical titled SCKBSTD. The title track was used in Spike Lee's documentary ''Kobe Doin' Work. Robert Wierzel (born July 1, 1956) is an American lighting designer. John Cullum (born circa 1930) is an American actor and singer.
