Societas Cooperativa Europaea
The European Cooperative Society (SCE, for Latin ) is, in corporate law, a European cooperative type of company, established in 2006 and related to the Societas Europaea (SE). They may be established and may operate throughout the European Economic Area (including the European Union). The legal form was created to remove the need for cooperatives to establish a subsidiary in each member state of the European Union in which they operate, and to allow them to move their registered office and headquarters freely from one member state to another, keeping their legal identity and without having to register or wind up any legal persons. No matter where they are established, SCEs are governed by a single EEA-wide set of rules and principles which are supplemented by the laws on co-operatives in each member state, and other areas of law. History Early attempts Legislative history SCEs in practice In 2015, the German meat marketer changed its legal form to a Societas cooperativa Euro ...

Southern California Edison
Southern California Edison (or SCE Corp), the largest subsidiary of Edison International, is the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California. It provides 15 million people with electricity across a service territory of approximately 50,000 square miles. However, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Imperial Irrigation District, and some smaller municipal utilities serve substantial portions of the southern California territory. The northern part of the state is generally served by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company of San Francisco. Other investor-owned utilities (IOUs) in California include SDG&E, PacifiCorp, Bear Valley Electric, and Liberty Utilities. Southern California Edison (SCE) still owns all of its electrical transmission facilities and equipment, but the deregulation of California's electricity market in the late 1990s forced the company to sell many of its power plants, though some were probably sold ...

System Center Essentials
System Center Essentials (SCE) is a system management product from Microsoft targeting Windows systems for small and medium size businesses. The product allows monitoring and alert resolution of server and client computers, applications, hardware, and network devices. Many Microsoft server products, such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Exchange Server, can be monitored with SCE. SCE can manage up to 500 Windows clients and 50 servers. Microsoft has made the decision not to deliver any further full version releases of System Center Essentials. Central concepts The basic idea is to place a piece of software, an ''agent'', on the computer to be monitored. The agent watches several sources on that computer, including the Windows Event Log, for specific events or ''alerts'' generated by the applications executing on the monitored computer. Upon alert occurrence and detection, the agent forwards the alert to the SCE server. This SCE server application maintain ...

Sister Chromatid Exchange
Sister chromatid exchange (SCE) is the exchange of genetic material between two identical sister chromatids. It was first discovered by using the Giemsa staining method on one chromatid belonging to the sister chromatid complex before anaphase in mitosis. The staining revealed that few segments were passed to the sister chromatid which were not dyed. The Giemsa staining was able to stain due to the presence of bromodeoxyuridine analogous base which was introduced to the desired chromatid. The reason for the (SCE) is not known but it is required and used as a mutagenic testing of many products. Four to five sister chromatid exchanges per chromosome pair, per mitosis is in the normal distribution, while 14-100 exchanges is not normal and presents a danger to the organism. SCE is elevated in pathologies including Bloom syndrome, having recombination rates ~10-100 times above normal, depending on cell type. Frequent SCEs may also be related to formation of tumors. Sister chromatid ex ...

Subcutaneous Emphysema
Subcutaneous emphysema (SCE, SE) occurs when gas or air accumulates and seeps under the skin, where normally no gas should be present. ''Subcutaneous'' refers to the subcutaneous tissue, and ''emphysema'' refers to trapped air pockets resembling the pneumatosis seen in pulmonary emphysema. Since the air generally comes from the chest cavity, subcutaneous emphysema usually occurs around the upper torso, such as on the chest, neck, face, axillae and arms, where it is able to travel with little resistance along the loose connective tissue within the superficial fascia. Subcutaneous emphysema has a characteristic crackling-feel to the touch, a sensation that has been described as similar to touching warm Rice Krispies. This sensation of air under the skin is known as ''subcutaneous crepitation,'' a form of Crepitus. Numerous etiologies of subcutaneous emphysema have been described. Pneumomediastinum was first recognized as a medical entity by Laennec, who reported it as a conseq ...

Saturated Calomel Electrode
The saturated calomel electrode (SCE) is a reference electrode based on the reaction between elemental mercury and mercury(I) chloride. It has been widely replaced by the silver chloride electrode, however the calomel electrode has a reputation of being more robust. The aqueous phase in contact with the mercury and the mercury(I) chloride (Hg2Cl2, "calomel") is a saturated solution of potassium chloride in water. The electrode is normally linked via a porous frit to the solution in which the other electrode is immersed. This porous frit is a salt bridge. In cell notation the electrode is written as: :(4M) , , , Pt Theory of electrolysis Solubility product The electrode is based on the redox reactions :\ce, \qquad \ce \quad E^0_\ce = +0.80\ \ce :\ce, \qquad \ce \quad E^0_\ce = +0.27\ \ce The half reactions can be balanced to the following reaction :\ce, \qquad \ce \quad E^0_\ce = +0.53\ \ce. Which can be simplified to the precipitation reaction, with the equilibrium constan ...

Intelligent Network
The Intelligent Network (IN) is the standard network architecture specified in the ITU-T Q.1200 series recommendations. It is intended for fixed as well as Global System for Mobile Communications, mobile telecommunication, telecom networks. It allows operators to differentiate themselves by providing value-added services in addition to the standard telecom services such as PSTN, ISDN on fixed networks, and GSM services on Mobile phone, mobile phones or other mobile devices. The intelligence is provided by network nodes on the service layer, distinct from the telephone exchange, switching layer of the core network, as opposed to solutions based on intelligence in the core telephone exchange, switches or equipment. The IN nodes are typically owned by telecommunications service providers such as a telephone company or mobile phone operator. IN is supported by the Signaling System 7, Signaling System #7 (SS7) protocol between network switching centers and other network nodes owned by ...
