SAGE-AU
SAGE-AU was an Australian non-profit professional association of system administrators. SAGE-AU was originally formed to provide the same services for Australian system administrators as the SAGE organisation did in the United States, but was completely independent of that entity since SAGE-AU's formation in 1993. SAGE-AU was incorporated in the state of Victoria. SAGE-AU's mission was to provide services to system administrators to assist in their day-to-day work. In October 2016, SAGE-AU was formally wound up and its assets were transferred to ITPA ( Information Technology Professionals Association). Official deregistration was confirmed in writing by the Victorian Government Department of Justice and Regulation on 22 May 2018. LISA is the USENIX special interest group for system administrators. LISA was known officially as the System Administrators Guild until November 2003; from 2003 to 2010, it was known as SAGE. In March 2016 it was announced that LISA was being retired. AUUG
AUUG was an Australian association and users' group. It described itself as the organisation for Unix, Linux and Open Source professionals. Its aim was to build a community of those interested in open systems and open standards. The newsletter AUUGN is pronounced . AUUG ran nationally with chapters in most states and territories. The main activities were a website, mailing lists, the AUUGN newsletter, various conferences, and chapter meetings. Along with USENIX, AUUG was one of the oldest Unix user groups in the world. The League of Professional System Administrators (LOPSA), founded in 2004, is a professional association for IT Administrators. History and formation Originally, the corporation was created as "The System Administrators Guild, Inc" in July 2004 by volunteers of the USENIX Association as part of a plan to spin off its SAGE Special Technical Group into a separate organization. After the spin-off from the USENIX Association was halted in November 2005, the volunteers involved in the spin-off opted to move forward as a new organization which was renamed LOPSA, and began reorganizing itself into an independent entity.
