S. Shamsuddin
Shamsuddin bin Dali ( Jawi: شمسو الدين بن دالي) or better known as S. Shamsuddin (1 January 1929 – 4 June 2013) was a Singaporean actor and comedian who appeared in Malayan films during the 1950s and 1960s. Early life S. Shamsuddin or Pak Sudin as he is affectionately known, was born in Pasir Panjang, Singapore. His father, Dali bin Kechik was from Malacca, Malaysia, while his mother, Khatijah binti Haji Ahmad was from Geylang, Singapore. He previously worked as a labourer to help his family before he entered the acting profession. Career One day, in 1948, he went to the Studio Malay Film Productions (MFP) at Jalan Ampas just to see how filming works. His visit turned out to be a lucky one for him as he was given an opportunity to work as an extra in a film titled ''Chempaka'' directed by B. S. Rajhans. Jurong
Jurong () is a major geographical region located at the south-westernmost point of the West Region of Singapore. Although mostly vaguely defined, the region's extent roughly covers the planning areas of Jurong East, Jurong West, Boon Lay, and Pioneer, along with Jurong Island in the Western Islands cluster and the southernmost portions of the Western Water Catchment. Should it be described at its greatest historical extent, the region can also include present-day Bukit Batok and Tuas. ''Nujum Pak Belalang'' (''The Fortune-telling of Pak Belalang'') is a 1959 Singaporean comedy film directed by and starring P. Ramlee. The film is styled as a fairytale and is loosely based on a Malay folk tale. Plot This films follows Pak Belalang, a lazy man who loathes hard work. He has a young son named Belalang, who is smarter and more hardworking than his father. During his way home from work one day, Belalang encounters two thieves, Badan and Nyawa, who were just on their way back from stealing two cows. Using his wits, he scares them away and takes the cows back with him. He tells his father about it who panics and tells him to return the cows to their rightful owners. Belalang retorts that without knowing who they were, they couldn't do the right thing even if they wanted to. Astro Ria
Astro Ria is a 24-hour Southeast Asia Bahasa Malaysia television channel exclusive to the Astro satellite television provider. It was one of the first 22 channels to be launched on Astro in 1996. Astro Ria offers a variety of shows including news, local and Indonesian dramas, movies, reality shows, sports, talk shows, cartoons, concerts, sitcoms, documentaries, cooking shows, quizzes and more. Channel changes were made from October 1, 2007, after Astro introduced a 3-digit channel. ''Budak Lapok'' is a 2007 Malaysian animated film. Based on the P. Ramlee film '' Bujang Lapok'', the film premiered on 13 October 2007 and was directed by Anwardi Datuk Jamil. It became the first Malaysian animated movie released in six years since ''Putih'' in 2001. ''Bidasari'' is a 1965 Malaysian-Singaporean black-and-white romantic-drama film starring Jins Shamsuddin and Sarimah. The film is notable for having dialogue that is written almost completely as rhyming poetry. ''Nasib Si Labu Labi'' (''The Fate of Labu and Labi'', colloquially "''What Happened to Labu and Labi''") is a 1963 Malaysian buddy comedy film directed by and starring P. Ramlee.
