S. Floyd Mori
Shiro Floyd Mori (born May 30, 1939) is an American politician and educator. Mori was born in Murray, Utah; his parents emigrated to the United States from Japan. Mori graduated from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. He served in the United States Army and also served as an LDS missionary in Hawaii. Mori received a bachelor's degree with a dual major in Economics and Asian Studies and a master's degree in Economics and Political Science, both from Brigham Young University. He also went to the University of Southern California. He did fellowship programs at University of California, Los Angeles, and Stanford University. Mori taught economics at Chabot College. He was also involved with the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) as a long time member, National President, and on the staff of the JACL as National Executive Director/CEO. Murray, Utah
Murray () is a city situated on the Wasatch Front in the core of Salt Lake Valley in the U.S. state of Utah. Named for territorial governor Eli Murray, it is the state's fourteenth largest city. According to the 2020 census, Murray had a population of 50,637. Murray shares borders with Taylorsville, Holladay, South Salt Lake and West Jordan, Utah. Chabot College
Chabot College (Chabot or CC) is a public community college in Hayward, California. It is part of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. History Chabot College was the first college opened by the Chabot- Las Positas Community College District. The formation of a “junior college district” was approved by the voters on January 10, 1961, and the first board of trustees elected on April 18, 1961. Chabot College opened for classes on September 11, 1961, on a temporary site in San Leandro with an enrollment of 1,163 students. The Chabot College site on Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward opened for its first day of classes on September 20, 1965. The college primarily serves residents of Alameda County in the East Bay area (generally the suburban region south of Oakland), including the district communities of Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro, San Lorenzo and Union City.
