S.M. Muneer
S.M. Muneer (1944/1945 – 28 November 2022) was a Pakistani businessman and industrialist who served as patron-in-chief of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). Additionally, he was a board member for various banks and private businesses and had ties to the leather trade. He has also managed several hospitals, maternity homes, schools, and institutions in Karachi, Faisalabad, and Chiniot while serving as chairman of Chiniot Anjuman Islamia. Muneer was a member of the Institute of Business Management and Greenwich University, Karachi, boards of governors and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry. He was on the boards of The Kidney Centre Post Graduate Training Institute and Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital in Lahore. Muneer died on 28 November 2022, at the age of 77. Sitara-i-Imtiaz
The Sitara-e-Imtiaz () also spelled as Sitara-i-Imtiaz, is the third-highest (in the order of "Imtiaz") honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan. It recognizes individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours". This award is not limited to the citizens of Pakistan, and it can also be awarded to foreign citizens based on their achievements and services done to the State of Pakistan (see Władysław Turowicz). Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre ( ur, , abbreviated as SKMCH&RC/SKMCH) is a cancer centre with locations in Lahore and Peshawar, Pakistan. It is the first project of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, a charitable organization established under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of British India. It is Pakistan's largest tertiary care hospital. History The hospital was founded by Imran Khan, Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician and former Prime Minister.
