S.B. Rhodes
Steven Bankole Rhodes II, C.B.E. (1890-1951) was a Nigerian jurist and administrator. He was one of the founding fathers of both the Nigerian Judiciary and the Executive arm of Nigeria's government, serving successively in the Legislative Council, at the High Court, and in the Executive Council. On 8 November 1945, he was the second indigenous judge appointed into the Nigerian Judiciary, the first being Justice Jibowu and the third being Justice Ademola. As a pioneer judge, he contributed immensely to the development of Nigerian case law by adapting the principles of the English common law, in their practical content, to the Nigerian environment. Nnamdi Azikiwe
Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, (16 November 1904 – 11 May 1996), usually referred to as "Zik", was a Nigerian statesman and political leader who served as the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966. Considered a driving force behind the nation's independence, he came to be known as the "father of Nigerian Nationalism". Born to Igbo parents from Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria in Zungeru in present-day Niger State, as a young boy he learned to speak Hausa (the main indigenous language of the Northern Region). Azikiwe was later sent to live with his aunt and grandmother in Onitsha (his parental homeland), where he learned the Igbo language. Anthony Enahoro
Chief Anthony Eromosele Enahoro (22 July 1923 – 15 December 2010) was one of Nigeria's foremost anti-colonial and pro-democracy activists. He was born the eldest of ten children in Uromi, present-day Edo State of Nigeria. His Esan parents were Anastasius Okotako Enahoro (1900–1968) and Fidelia Victoria Inibokun née Ogbidi Okojie (1906–1969). Enahoro had a long and distinguished career in the press, politics, civil service and the pro-democracy movement. Educated at the Government School, Uromi, Government School, Owo and King's College, Lagos, Enahoro became the editor of Nnamdi Azikiwe's newspaper, the ''Southern Nigerian Defender'', Ibadan, in 1944 at the age of 21, thus becoming Nigeria's youngest editor ever. Gbadebo Chinedu Patrick Rhodes-Vivour, also known as GRV, (born 8 March 1983) is a Nigerian architect, activist and politician. He was the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Lagos State in the 2023 gubernatorial election which he finished runner-up, losing to incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Chief Akinwunmi R.W. Rhodes-Vivour (1910–1987) was a Nigerian Judge and an influential personality in Midwest Nigeria. Early life A son of Garnet Vivour and Sarah Rhodes de Vivour, Akinwunmi Rhodes-Vivour was born on 8 July 1910, in Lagos Island. Steven Bankole Rhodes III (April 1926 - May 2008), known professionally as Steve Rhodes, was a Nigerian broadcaster and musician who founded the Steve Rhodes Orchestra in 1970. He was Fela Kuti's manager in the 1960s and was source of inspiration for many Nigerian musicians who started out in the 1960s and 1970s. Life Rhodes was born to the family of Bankole Rhodes, a Nigerian judge that served as a founding father of his country, and Mabel Jones de Rhodes. Sir Louis Nwachukwu Mbanefo Kt (13 May 1911 – 28 March 1977) is noted as the first lawyer from the East of Nigeria. He was born in Onitsha, Eastern Nigeria, and obtained his education in the United Kingdom at a time when it was extremely rare to have a person of his ethnic persuasion pursuing higher education, much less professional training at the bar. Education Between 1925 and 1932 he attended the Methodist Boys High School in Lagos and subsequently the prestigious King's College, also in Lagos, which was modelled on Eton and Harrow Colleges and where he was a keen cricketer and footballer.
