Ryo Sakazaki
is a video game character developed for the 1992 fighting game ''Art of Fighting'' from SNK. His name is most often written in kana, although in some games, kanji is used to write parts of his name. In the series, Ryo is a skilled martial artist who practices his family's fighting style, Kyokugenryu Karate, acting as the top disciple, alongside his sister Yuri, his father/sensei Takuma and his best friend Robert Garcia. While ''Art of Fighting'' follows Ryo's journey as a warrior to protect those he loves, he is also a regular character in the crossover series ''The King of Fighters'', in which he participates in fighting tournaments. World Heroes
is a series of four fighting games created originally by ADK with assistance from SNK for the Neo Geo family of arcade and home consoles. Over the years, the games have been ported to various non-SNK platforms as well including the Super NES and Sega Saturn. A fifth title ''World Heroes Pocket'' was announced for release on the Neo Geo Pocket around 1999 but later canceled. Gameplay The series plays similar to many other fighting games, but instead of a 6-button layout, the original ''World Heroes'' uses only 3 of the standard 4 Neo-Geo buttons: one for punching, another for kicking, and the last for throwing. Neo Geo
Neo Geo is a family of video game hardware developed by SNK. On the market from 1990 to 2004, the brand originated with the release of an arcade system, the Neo Geo MVS and its home console counterpart, the Neo Geo AES. The Neo Geo MVS was successful with arcade operators worldwide. Both the MVS and AES were powerful for the time, and the AES allows for fully authentic versions of games released for the MVS. However, the high price for both the AES console and its games prevented it from directly competing with its contemporaries, the Sega Genesis, Super NES, and TurboGrafx-16. , best known under the pen name of , is a Japanese illustrator and conceptual artist who used to work for SNK Playmore, SNK and is currently employed by Capcom. Prior to joining Capcom, Shinkiro was employed by SNK, where he provided the character designs and cover illustrations for many of their Neo Geo (console), Neo-Geo games, including such series as ''Fatal Fury (series), Fatal Fury'', ''Metal Slug'', ''The King of Fighters'', and ''Samurai Shodown'', as well as for the crossover series ''SNK vs Capcom'' on which he collaborated with Capcom's Kinu Nishimura.
