Ryan Fisher
Ryan Scott Fisher (born 7 September 1983 in Riverside, California) is an American former international motorcycle speedway rider. Career Fisher began riding in the United Kingdom for Coventry Bees in 2002 and has since ridden for Oxford Cheetahs and Belle Vue Aces. He was a doubling up riding for a second successive season at Edinburgh Monarchs on the Premier side and Swindon Robins on the Elite side. In 2011, Fisher moved full-time back into the Elite League, with the Coventry Bees. Elite League (speedway)
The Elite League was the top division of speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. In 2016, the Elite League featured 8 teams, unlike 10 in 2014, during a season which ran between March and October. Each team had a designated race day on which they normally staged their home fixtures, and they regularly had home and away fixtures scheduled in the same week. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand).
