Ryan Dvorak
Ryan Michael Dvorak is an American politician from the state of Indiana. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party, Dvorak is a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing the 8th District since 2002. Biography After graduating from Penn High School in 1992, Dvorak earned a Bachelor of Arts, B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame (1996), and a Juris Doctor, J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (2008). Ryan is also a practicing attorney with May Oberfell Lorber, the oldest law firm in northern Indiana. Dvorak served as a senior aide to Congressman Tim Roemer in Indiana and Washington, D.C. from 1996 to 2001. Dvorak ran Roemer's successful 1998 and 2000 congressional campaigns. 2011 South Bend Mayoral Election
The 2011 South Bend, Indiana mayoral election was held on November 8, 2011. After serving for fourteen years, incumbent mayor Steve Luecke announced that he would not seek reelection. Luecke's decision not to run for reelection made the 2011 election the first open election for mayor of South Bend in 24 years. The election was won by Pete Buttigieg, who, at 29 years of age, became the youngest mayor, at the time, of a United States city with a population greater than 100,000. Michael A. Dvorak (born October 24, 1948) is an American lawyer and politician who formerly served as an Indiana State Representative and the St. Joseph County, Indiana prosecutor. Early life Dvorak was born October 24, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana. Dvorak earned a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago in 1970. He earned a Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law in 1975. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1975 and the Indiana State Bar Association in 1977. Career Dvorak served as a deputy prosecutor in Modesto, California from 1975 through 1977. He worked in private legal practice from 1977 through 2002. Chris Chocola
Joseph Christopher Chocola (born February 24, 1962) is an American businessman, lawyer, and former politician. A member of the Republican Party, Chocola served in the United States House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, representing Indiana's 2nd congressional district. Net Metering
Net metering (or net energy metering, NEM) is an electricity billing mechanism that allows consumers who generate some or all of their own electricity to use that electricity anytime, instead of when it is generated. This is particularly important with renewable energy sources like wind and solar, which are non-dispatchable (when not coupled to storage). Monthly net metering allows consumers to use solar power generated during the day at night, or wind from a windy day later in the month. Scott Douglas Pelath (born July 9, 1970) was the Minority Leader of the Indiana House of Representatives. From 1998 to 2018 he represented Indiana's 9th District, which currently covers portions of LaPorte County and Porter County in Northwest Indiana. Linda C. Lawson (born June 29, 1964) is an American politician and law enforcement officer who served as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 1998 until her retirement in 2018. Career Lawson is a 24-year veteran of the Hammond Police Department.
