Ruth's Chris Steak House
Ruth's Chris Steak House is a chain of over 100 steakhouses across the United States, Canada and Mexico. On May 22, 2008, the company underwent rebranding and became part of Ruth's Hospitality Group after its acquisition of Mitchell's Fish Market. The group's headquarters are in Winter Park, Florida. History The original Chris Steak House (1927–1965) Chris Steak House was founded on February 27, 1927 by New Orleans entrepreneur Chris Matulich. It was located at 1100 North Broad Street near the Fair Grounds Race Course, seated 60 people, and had no parking lot. During Matulich's 38-year management, the business was sold six times, failing each time, and enabling him to buy the restaurant back cheaply from the purchasers. The building has recently been the focus of a historic preservation dispute under its new owner, who demolished the iconic wraparound terracotta-tile awning in April 2022 without the proper permits. Harrah's Las Vegas is a hotel and casino centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. The property originally opened as a joint venture with Holiday Inn. Construction began in April 1970, and the hotel portion opened on February 1, 1972, as the Holiday Inn Center Strip. Craig Miller (CEO)
Craig Miller is a former CEO of Ruth's Chris Steak House. He ran an unsuccessful campaign as a 2010 candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. He also was a candidate in the 2012 U.S. Senate elections to be a senator representing Florida. On January 12, 2012, Miller's candidacy was endorsed by Herman Cain. Harrah's New Orleans is a casino in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, near the foot of Canal Street a block away from the Mississippi River. It is a casino with approximately 2,100 slot machines, over 90 table games and a poker room. The casino is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. There are several places to eat ranging from buffet style to fine dining. Morton's The Steakhouse is a chain of steak restaurants with locations in the United States and franchised abroad, founded in Chicago in 1978. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Landry's.
