Russ Morrissey
Russ Morrissey, also known as Morrus (born June 1974), is a British reporter, game designer, podcaster, author and owner of EN World. Morrissey founded the ENnie Awards in 2001, which he ran until 2018. He also founded the book publisher EN Publishing, and the tabletop gaming news website EN World, both of which he runs currently. Career EN World and EN Publishing Morrissey wrote his first tabletop RPG at the age of 14 in 1984. He founded d20reviews.com in 1999, which was renamed EN World, also known as ''Morrus' Unofficial Tabletop RPG News'' in 2001, a tabletop RPG news website and community. In 2001, Morrissey founded the publishing company EN Publishing and has gone on to publish over 300 books under the brand. In 2014 under EN Publishing, Morrissey wrote and published the W.O.I.N. ENnies
The ENNIE Awards (previously stylized as ENnie Awards) are awards for role-playing game (RPG) products (including game-related accessories, publications, and art) and their creators. The awards were created in 2001 by Russ Morrissey of EN World in partnership with Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D Third Edition News. The ceremony has been hosted at Gen Con in Indianapolis since 2002. Since 2018, EN World is no longer associated with the awards. The ENNIES comprise two rounds. In the first round, publishers submit their products for nomination. Entries are judged by five democratically elected judges. The nominated products are voted on by the public in the second round. Winners of the annual awards are then announced at a ceremony at Gen Con. History The award ceremony initially focused on the '' d20 System'' products and publishers. Keith Baker (game Designer)
Keith Baker is a game designer and fantasy novel author. In addition to working with Wizards of the Coast on the creation of Eberron, he has also contributed material for Goodman Games, Paizo Publishing and Green Ronin Publishing. In 2014, Baker and Jennifer Ellis co-founded the indie tabletop game company Twogether Studios. Personal life Baker lives in Portland, Oregon. He has a tattoo of the Greater Mark of Making on his right arm. He is married to product designer Jenn Ellis. Role-playing or roleplaying is the changing of one's behaviour to assume a role, either unconsciously to fill a social role, or consciously to act out an adopted role. Ryan Dancey
Ryan S. Dancey is a businessman who has worked primarily in the collectible card game and role-playing game industries. He was vice president in charge of ''Dungeons & Dragons'' at Wizards of the Coast. When the publisher of Dungeons & Dragons was facing bankruptcy, Dancey helped negotiate sale of the property to Wizards of the Coast. Dancey promoted the D&D's open gaming license (OGL), which reversed the policy from opposing third-party publications to supporting them. Career Dancey was the owner of distributor Isomedia Inc, which was helping to fund ''Legend of the Five Rings'' (1995), and he joined in on the project. In 1996 the principals behind the game created a new company with better funding, calling it Five Rings Publishing Group. Monte Cook
Monte Cook is an American professional tabletop role-playing game designer and writer, best known for his work on ''Dungeons & Dragons''. Role-playing industry career Early years Cook has been a professional game designer since 1988, working primarily on role-playing games. Much of his early work was for Iron Crown Enterprises as an editor and writer for the ''Rolemaster'' and ''Champions'' lines. For a time, Cook was the editor in charge of the "Campaign Classics" line of books for the ''Hero System'' and ''Rolemaster'' lines. Cook worked for Iron Crown Enterprises for four years; two as a freelancer and two as a full-time designer.
