Rural Municipality Of Alexander
The Rural Municipality of Alexander (french: Municipalité rurale d'Alexander) is a rural municipality in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, Canada. The town of Powerview-Pine Falls lies adjacent to the municipality, as does the Sagkeeng First Nation Indian reserve. The municipality contains all of Manitoba's Belair Provincial Forest in its westernmost part, plus the northern half of Brightstone Sand Hills Provincial Forest in its central part. History It was first incorporated as a Local Government District in 1945 and received its present status as a rural municipality on 1 January 1997. The RM had been under a boil water advisory since April 18, 2006, until a $5-million water treatment plant had been installed in September 2019. Under the province's ''Municipal Act'' of 1997, an area must have a minimum population of 1,000 and a density of less than to incorporate as a rural municipality. The Winnipeg River is a Canadian river that flows roughly northwest from Lake of the Woods in the province of Ontario to Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba. Lac du Bonnet is a rural municipality in the province of Manitoba in western Canada, situated between the Nopiming Provincial Park to the northeast and Whiteshell Provincial Park to the southeast. The separately-administered town of Lac du Bonnet lies within the borders of the municipality. It also mostly encircles the Pinawa local government district in the municipality's southeast part. A large portion of the municipality includes waters of the Winnipeg River and its tributaries. Powerview-Pine Falls
Powerview-Pine Falls is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba, with a population of 1,314 at the 2011 census, up 1.54% from 1,294 at the 2006 census and down 7.57% from 1,400 during the 2001 census. The town is an amalgamation of the previous town of Powerview with the previously unincorporated area of Pine Falls, to its west. The town borders the Rural Municipality of Alexander and the Sagkeeng First Nation Indian reserve. Victoria Beach is a rural municipality in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, Canada, located on the southeastern shores of Lake Winnipeg, approximately north of Winnipeg. The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Fort Alexander First Nation
The Sagkeeng First Nation (also known as Sagkeeng Anicinabe) is a Treaty-1 First Nation in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, Canada, that is composed of the Anishinaabe people indigenous to the area at or near the Fort Alexander Indian Reserve #3 (or Fort Alexander) located along the Winnipeg River and Traverse Bay. Today, Sagkeeng holds territory in the southern part of Lake Winnipeg, north of the city of Winnipeg, and on the mainland. As of June 2021, the Sagkeeng reserve has a total registered population of 8,208 band members, with over 3,600 members living on the reserve and over 4,500 living off of the reserve.
