Rupit I Pruit
Rupit i Pruit () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia, Spain situated in the Sierra de la Cabrera mountain range near Barcelona. It is made up of two formerly separate settlements, Rupit and Pruit, whuch were independent until 1977. The medieval village of Rupit emerged around the 12th century thanks to important local families. The most notible feature is its old town, which is connected by a suspension bridge. Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Tavertet
Tavertet is a small town located above some cliffs, 900m above sea level, in the area known as Collsacabra, north of the Guilleries, in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia. Below the cliffs is Pantà de Sau, a reservoir that dammed the waters of the river Ter in the 1960s. Tavertet is nowadays a tourist-oriented town with many holiday homes, where Raimon Panikkar lived. Vilanova De Sau
Vilanova de Sau is a town in the ''comarca'' of the Osona in Catalonia, eastern Spain. It is situated in the valley called Sau. The Ter river runs through the valley, now dammed into Pantà de Sau, a reservoir which is in the municipal territory of Vilanova de Sau, and is a tourist attraction and base for water sports and hiking. The reservoir houses the submerged Church of Sant Romà. Rupit
Rupit (officially part of Rupit i Pruit municipality) is a village in the county of Osona, in the subregion of the Collsacabra, in Catalonia, Spain. It is located at 822 m above sea level, 98 km from Barcelona. History The church of Sant Joan de Fàbregues and its castle are documented from the year 968. The church, which was the main church of the municipality, is located about 3 km from the castle. In the 12th century, the town grew around the castle of Rupit. Noble families built a new church, Sant Miquel, where they had built their houses. This church now is the parish church. In 1959 the municipality was officially named Rupit. In 1977, the hamlet of Pruit was united with Rupit village. And now it's officially called Rupit i Pruit.
