Running Blind (EP)
''Running Blind'' is an EP by the English musician Phil Selway, best known as the drummer of the rock band Radiohead. It was released on 25 July 2011 in the United Kingdom and 30 August 2011 in the United States. The EP contains four songs that were left off Selway's album '' Familial'' (2010) and were part of Selway's live sets. The songs were re-recorded with a full band. Reception ''Running Blind'' received mixed reviews from critics. Joe Tangari from Pitchfork Media gave the album a 5.8/10 and specifically praised the song "What Goes Around", writing that it "delivers a well-crafted melody," and said that the album was a slight improvement over its predecessor, ''Familial''. Philip Selway
Philip James Selway (born 23 May 1967) is an English musician and the drummer of the English rock band Radiohead. Along with the other members of Radiohead, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Selway released his debut solo album, '' Familial'', in 2010, followed by '' Weatherhouse'' in 2014. He also composed the soundtrack for the 2017 film ''Let Me Go''. His third solo album, ''Strange Dance'', is scheduled for February 2023. Early life Selway was born on 23 May, 1967, in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Nonesuch Records is an American record company and label owned by Warner Music Group, distributed by Warner Records (formerly called Warner Bros. Records), and based in New York City. Bella Union
Bella Union is a British independent record label founded in 1997 by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. It is now run solely by Raymonde. History After releasing records with 4AD for a large part of their career, Cocteau Twins decided to start up the Bella Union record label in 1997, through which they could release their own work as well as any collaborative efforts. ''Familial'' is the debut solo studio album by the English musician Philip Selway, best known as the drummer of the rock band Radiohead. It was released on 30 August 2010 in the United Kingdom and received mainly positive reviews. Music ''Familiar'' contains ten tracks written by Selway, with contributions from various musicians. Selway performed acoustic guitar and vocals; ''Pitchfork'' described the album as a collection of "hushed folk songs" in the tradition of the English singer-songwriter Nick Drake. ''Weatherhouse'' is the second album by the English musician Philip Selway, released on 7 October 2014. It features musicians Selway's backing band. On 31 July 2014 a music video was released for the first single from the album, "Coming Up for Air". On 22 September 2014 a music video was released for another song on the album, "It Will End In Tears". Whereas Selway's first album, '' Familial'' (2010), was largely acoustic, ''Weatherhouse'' features more ambitious arrangements and electronic elements. Critical reception ''Weatherhouse'' received a score of 65 on Metacritic, indicating "generably favourable reviews". AllMusic gave the album three and a half out of 5, declaring it "an immaculately crafted, impossibly tasteful miniature".
