Rui Jorge Farto Correia (born 23 August 1990) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or a central defender for C.F. Os Belenenses. Club career Born in Chaves, Correia played youth football with Seixal FC. Until the age of 22 he competed in the lower leagues, signing with Portimonense S.C. from the Segunda Liga in the summer of 2013. Correia joined Primeira Liga club C.D. Nacional for the 2014–15 season, after agreeing to a four-year contract. Chaves () is a city and a municipality in the north of Portugal. It is 10 km south of the Spanish border and 22 km south of Verín (Spain). The population in 2011 was 41,243, in an area of 591.23 km2. Manuel Afonso Correia (born 26 February 1962) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a central defender, and is a current manager. Club career Born in Seixal, Setúbal District, Correia appeared in 299 Primeira Liga matches over nine seasons, scoring a total of nine goals for F.C. Vizela and G.D. Chaves and also representing F.C. Penafiel. He made his debut in the competition on 26 August 1984 whilst at the service of the first club, in a 1–2 home loss against S.L. Benfica.
