Rugby League Conference South Premier
The South Premier, also known as the London Premier, is a division in rugby league's tier 4. It was the highest level of amateur rugby league in the South of England until the creation in 2013 of Conference League South. It was first contested in 2005 as the South Premier division of the Rugby League Conference but is currently a standalone league run by London Rugby League. Many of the clubs run juniors in the London Junior League. History The Rugby League Conference was born in 1997 as the Southern Conference. The Premier Division was set up in 2005 for teams who had achieved a certain playing standard and were able to travel further afield to find stronger opposition. The new Premier Divisions included the North Premier, the South Premier, the Central Premier and the Welsh Premier. Prior to the 2005 season National League Three side South London Storm announced that they were joining the South Premier; the other founder members came from the Conference regional divisions. ...

London, South And East Merit League
The London and South East Merit League is a rugby league competition founded in 1965. It is also known as the ''London League'' (LL), ''London, South and East Merit League'', ''London Amateur Rugby League'' (LARL) and ''London Merit League'' (LML). It is now one of four feeder leagues for the Rugby League Conference (RLC). There is also a London Junior League for youth teams. Structure The merit system, which gives its unofficial name to the league as the London Merit League, came about as a way to accommodate the needs of as many of clubs as possible. The "merit table" system gives teams, freedom to arrange as many or few games amongst the other league participants as they wish. The results of fixtures worked out between the teams are compiled into a league table based on average scores. The top six teams then go through to a play-off system to determine the champion club. London Skolars
The London Skolars are a professional rugby league club based at the New River Stadium, Wood Green, Haringey in north London. They were founded in 1995 and have been professional since 2003, operating in the Betfred League 1. They also run an A-team (formerly known as ''Haringey Hornets'') that play in the South Premier Division of the Rugby League Conference. Kent Ravens
The Kent Ravens are a defunct amateur rugby league club from Eltham in south-east London, founded in 2004 by Alan Bacon. They played at Princes Park. The club won 10 titles in the two seasons since its creation on 12 June 2004, including the women's London league runners up, the under-11s overall London championship and the men's London League Plate grand final. The Early History of Rugby League in Kent The first rugby league club in Kent was a professional outfit, called Kent Invicta. Invicta were formed by Paul Faires and were admitted to the Rugby League on 6 April 1983. Southend United Football Club then approached Invicta and in late 1984 became Southend Invicta but they were struck from the 1985–86 fixtures by the Rugby League only days before the commencement of the new season because they were considered not to have formed a team. Greenwich Admirals is a rugby league team based in Greenwich, London. They play in the South Premier of the Rugby League Conference. History The ''Greenwich Admirals'' side was founded in 2001 as the brainchild of Chief Executive of the London Broncos' Lionel Hurst and under the guidance of development officer Graeme Thompson. Greenwich Admirals were to continue the Broncos' development work in the area after the Broncos moved away from south east London to a new home in Brentford. Elmbridge Eagles
Elmbridge Eagles RL are a rugby league club from Elmbridge in Surrey. They were one of the founding members of the Rugby League Conference as Kingston. History In 1978, schoolboys at Ambleside Middle School in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey were introduced to the game by a teacher. The boys really took to it and began to play matches against other schools in 1979. An early claim to fame came in September 1980 when the boys were invited to take part in a curtain raiser at Craven Cottage when Fulham RLFC took on Wigan in their first ever fixture. They also became the first school team from the South of England to win a game in Yorkshire. Bedford Tigers RLFC is a rugby league club based in Bedford, England. The first team plays in the Southern Conference, with a second team in the East Premier League. Clapham Common is a large triangular urban park in Clapham, south London, England. Originally common land for the parishes of Battersea and Clapham, it was converted to parkland under the terms of the Metropolitan Commons Act 1878. London Chargers R.L.F.C. are a rugby league side based in South West London who currently (2022) compete in the Southern Conference League, a tier 4 competition. They were known as the South West London Chargers up until November 2015.
