Rudersberg
Rudersberg is a municipality in the Rems-Murr district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located 10 km southeast of Backnang, and 28 km northeast of Stuttgart. Sport The local motocross club ''MSC Wieslauftal'' operates a track near Rudersberg which has in the past been used for Sidecarcross World Championship races. Rems-Murr
Rems-Murr is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Heilbronn, Schwäbisch Hall, Ostalbkreis, Göppingen, Esslingen, the district-free city Stuttgart and the district Ludwigsburg. History The district was created in 1973 when Waiblingen was merged with most of the district Backnang and a few municipalities from the district Schwäbisch Gmünd. Geography The largest part of the district is located in the Swabian-Franconian Forest (''Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald''), of which the Mainhardt Forest forms a part. The two rivers Rems and Murr gave the district its name. Coat of arms The coat of arms shows a deer antler in the middle, the symbol of the former state of Württemberg. The two wavy blue lines above and below symbolize the two rivers Murr (in the north) and Rems (in the south) after which the district was named. Backnang
Backnang (; swg, Bagene) is a town in Germany in the Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg, roughly northeast of Stuttgart. Its population has increased greatly over the past century, from 7,650 in 1900 to 35,761 in 2005. Backnang was ceded to Württemberg by the Baden ( Zähringer family) in 1325. Backnang has been known as ''Gerberstadt'' due to several tanneries and leather factories, and wool and cloth mills that dominated Backnang's industries. Today, all of these have vanished, and instead, telecommunication companies such as Ericsson (formerly AEG, Telefunken, ANT Nachrichtentechnik, Bosch and Marconi) and Tesat-Spacecom dominate the town's industries.
