Roy L. Webber
Roy L. Webber (November 7, 1904–October 1975)Social Security Death Index served twice as the mayor of the U.S. city of Roanoke, Virginia. He was mayor from 1949 to 1954 and from 1968 to 1975. Webber was a florist and the business he established in Roanoke carried his name until its closure in 2008. U.S. Route 220 from the end of Interstate 581 at State Route 24 (Elm Avenue) through the road's interchange with State Route 419 was named the Roy L. Webber Expressway in his honor. The Social Security Death Index (SSDI) was a database of death records created from the Social Security Administration, United States Social Security Administration's Death Master File until 2014. Since 2014, public access to the updated Death Master File has been via the Limited Access Death Master File certification program instituted under Title 15 Part 1110. Most persons who have died since 1936 who had a Social Security number (United States), Social Security Number (SSN) and whose death has been reported to the Social Security Administration are listed in the SSDI. For most years since 1973, the SSDI includes 93 percent to 96 percent of deaths of individuals aged 65 or older. It was frequently updated; the version of June 22, 2011, contained 89,835,920 records. Unlike the Death Master File, the SSDI is available to the public at many online genealogy websites. Interstate 581 (I-581) is a spur off I-81 into Roanoke, Virginia, completely overlapping US Route 220 (US 220). It is planned to be connected to I-73. Future I-73 Corridor signs are marked on I-581 on the southbound side just after exit 2. Route description The I-581 designation ends at the Elm Avenue ( State Route 24 (SR 24)) interchange in downtown Roanoke, where US 220 continues south as the Roy L. Webber Expressway. I-581 was constructed as a six lane highway for its entire length and has not been widened in its history. Many of I-581's exits are cloverleaf interchanges, which results in weaving. State Route 24 (SR 24) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. The state highway runs from U.S. Route 221 (US 221) and SR 116 in Roanoke east to US 60 in Mt. Rush. SR 24 connects Roanoke with several small communities in southern Bedford County and central Campbell County. The state highway also runs concurrently with US 460 west of Appomattox and passes through Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, which is the site of Robert E. ''Elvis on Tour'' is a 1972 American concert film starring Elvis Presley during his fifteen-city spring tour earlier that year. It is written, produced, directed by Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). Following his return to live performances and touring after his acting career, Presley starred in the documentary '' Elvis: That's the Way It Is'' with MGM in 1970. Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, then arranged a deal for another documentary film with the studio by early 1972. MGM hired Abel and Adidge, who previously documented Joe Cockers 1970 tour of the United States. The crew filmed four Presley shows that were later intertwined with interviews.
