Roy Hendriksen
Roy Pierre Vernond Hendriksen (born 21 January 1969) is a Dutch professional football manager, coach and former player. During his 16-year playing career he played Eredivisie football with SC Cambuur, before retiring in 2007 and entering management with Zeelandia Middelburg. He later served as assistant manager at RKC Waalwijk, N.E.C, Brentford, Sporting CP and Al Jazira. Playing career A midfielder, Hendriksen spent the majority of his 16-year professional career in the Eerste Divisie in the Netherlands, most notably with Helmond Sport, BV Veendam and RBC Roosendaal. He helped SC Cambuur to promotion from the Eerste Divisie in the 1997–98 season and made 27 Eredivisie appearances the following year. He retired in 2007 after a second spell with Helmond Sport. Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. Each club plays every other club once in the first half of the season before the league takes a winter break around the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. The second half of the season sees the same fixtures as the first half, with the stadiums changed, although the two halves are not played in the same order. 2010–11 Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie 2010–11 was the 55th season of the Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1956. The previous year's winners were De Graafschap, who were replaced by last-placed 2009–10 Eredivisie club RKC Waalwijk. The league featured 18 teams, two fewer than its previous season, following the exclusion of HFC Haarlem from professional football and the relegation of FC Oss to the 2010–11 Topklasse. On May 12, 2010 BV Veendam was declared bankrupt due to financial troubles, with FC Oss consequently expected to be readmitted into Eerste Divisie to replace it; however, the verdict was overturned later in June, and the club was thus allowed to play in the season with a reduced budget. From this season on, the last-placed team would be relegated to the Topklasse, and replaced by the winner of the newly established third tier. Ruud Brood
Ruud Brood (born 19 October 1962) is a Dutch football manager who last managed ADO Den Haag, and he is a former player. Football career Player Brood was born in Gorinchem. After joining the Feyenoord youth academy from hometown amateur side Unitas, Brood was not able to break into Feyenoord's senior squad. He then served RBC (1985–1987), FC Den Bosch (1987–1989), Willem II Tilburg (1989–1990) and NAC Breda (1990–1998). With Den Bosch, he finished 7th in the 1987–88 Eredivisie season and that won him a place in Rinus Michels' preliminary Euro 1988 squad. Unfortunately, he did not make the final squad which went on to win the Euro 1988 title. It began in August 2017 with the first matches of the season and ended in May 2018 with the returns of the finals of the promotion/relegation play-offs, involving also the 16th- and 17th-placed teams from the 2017–18 Eredivisie. Eerste Klasse
The Eerste Klasse ( en, First Class) started as the 1st tier of football in the Netherlands and is now the 6th tier. The league is divided into eleven divisions, six for Saturday clubs and five for Sunday clubs. These divisions correspond to the six districts of the Royal Dutch Football Association: each district organises a Saturday competition and a Sunday competition, except for South II, which only has a Sunday competition. The Vierde Klasse ( en, Fourth Class) is the ninth tier of football in the Netherlands and the seventh tier of Dutch amateur football. This is the lowest league in the West II region.
