Rottweil–Villingen Railway
The Rottweil–Villingen railway is a single-track, non-electrified, railway on the eastern edge of the Black Forest in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It runs partly in the upper Neckar valley and connects Rottweil on the Plochingen–Immendingen railway with Villingen-Schwenningen on the Black Forest Railway. It is served by timetable line 742, on the Rottweil–Bräunlingen/–Trossingen Stadt route (''Alemannenbahn''). History In 1865, the former countries of Baden and Württemberg agreed to connect their rail networks in the south. After the Upper Neckar Railway had reached Rottweil in 1868 and the Black Forest Railway reached Villingen in 1869, the 27 km-long Rottweil–Villingen railway was opened on 26 August 1869. Neustadt (Schwarzw) station is one of two stations in Titisee-Neustadt in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The other is Titisee. It is located in Neustadt at 805 metres above sea level on the Höllentalbahn, which links Freiburg with Donaueschingen. The Ringzug ("ring train"), also called the 3er-Ringzug ("ring train of the 3") is a passenger transport network in the districts of Tuttlingen, Rottweil and Schwarzwald-Baar in southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Baar (region)
The Baar () is a plateau that lies 600 to 900 metres above sea level in southwest Germany. It is bordered by the southeastern edge of the Black Forest to the west, the southwestern part of the Swabian Alb known as the Heuberg to the east, and the Randen mountain to the south. The Baar contains the source of the Neckar (a bog in Villingen-Schwenningen) and the Danube.
