Rothenburgsort () is a quarter (german: Stadtteil) in the Hamburg-Mitte borough of the Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg in northern Germany. In December 2020, the population was 9,043. History Geography The quarter is situated in the south-east center of Hamburg. It borders with the Hamburg quarters of Billbrook, Hammerbrook, Hamm, HafenCity, Veddel, and Wilhelmsburg in the Hamburg-Mitte borough; Moorfleet, Spadenland, and Tatenberg in the Bergedorf borough. Demographics In 2006 the population of the Rothenburgsort quarter was 8660 with 15.8% being children under the age of 18, and 16.7% being 65 years of age or older. Hamburg-Mitte
Hamburg-Mitte (Hamburg Central) is one of the seven boroughs of Hamburg, Germany, covering most of the city's urban center. The quarters of Hamburg-Altstadt and Neustadt cover much of the city's historic core. In 2020 the population was 301,231. History In 1937 several settlements (e.g. Finkenwerder), villages and rural areas were passed into Hamburg enforced by the Greater Hamburg Act. On 1 March 2008 due to a law of Hamburg, the quarter Wilhelmsburg was transferred from the borough Harburg. The neighborhood HafenCity was formed from parts of the quarters Klostertor, Altstadt and Rothenburgsort. The other part of Klostertor was transferred to Hammerbrook. Morsal Obeidi ( prs, مرسال عابدي 7 September 1991 – 15 May 2008) was a German-Afghan girl who was murdered in an honour killing in Hamburg. Moorfleet () is a quarter of Hamburg, Germany, in the borough of Bergedorf. It is located in the west of the borough. Geography Moorfleet is a part of the Marschlande and is located at the Dove Elbe river. The quarter is not highly populated and is mainly used for agriculture. However the western part of Moorfleet is a part of the industrial area of the Port of Hamburg. Billbrook
Billbrook () is a quarter of Hamburg, Germany, in the borough of Hamburg-Mitte. It is located on the southeastern border of the borough adjacent to the borough of Bergedorf. Billbrook is located in a swamp area near the Elbe and Bille rivers, which is described by the name, meaning ''Brook'' (''Bruchwald'', carr) at the river Bille. 2,198 people lived in Billbrook in 2016. Hammerbrook () is a quarter (''Stadtteil'') in the Hamburg-Mitte borough of the Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg in Germany. In 2020, the population was 5,069. Name ''Hamm'', as in the Hamm section of the city that borders it to the east, refers to forest, while ''brook'' refers to the low-lying swamp or carr that formerly characterised the area, which is the confluence of the Bille with the Elbe. The name ''Hammer Brook'' originally referred to the entire area east of the city and north of the Bille extending as far as Horn. Bergedorf () is the largest of the seven boroughs of Hamburg, Germany, named after Bergedorf quarter within this borough. In 2020 the population of the borough was 130,994. History The city of Bergedorf received town privileges in 1275, then a part of the younger Duchy of Saxony (1180–1296), which was partitioned by its four co-ruling dukes in 1296 into the branch duchies of Saxe-Lauenburg and Saxe-Wittenberg. Wilhelmsburg, Hamburg
Wilhelmsburg () ( nds, Willemsborg) is a quarter (''Stadtteil'') of Hamburg, Germany within the borough (''Bezirk'') of Hamburg-Mitte.
